Is anyone suprised? Now the question is, is even worse news around the corner?
Seems like they've got a lot of furlough numbers to hand out.
Is it me or the folks that haven't gotten hired by a major on the recent hiring boom seem to take pleasure on throwing the furlough word around? As if they would want to justify the fact that they haven't gotten hired as "good luck"
Things that make you go Hum?
Can you say F-U-R-L-O-U-G-H. It won't be long. I would stay clear of both NWA/DAL. They are yanking your chain if your are even thinking of going there. You will be on the street in two years if not sooner. Mark my words.
Yeah, I've been "throwing it around" because anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that a combined NWA and Delta won't have any use for DC9's.
Any promises made by management prior to a merger are simply meaningless. If you are on the bottom of either list and don't have a plan, you are asking for trouble. TC

No furlough clause? Thank God AA had one or I might have gotten laid off...oops, never mind...

Do you really think they will just PARK all of the 68 larger DC9s without replacing them? Really? Give up market share and just replace them (even though they have more seats than the DC9-30s and all of those wonderful CR9s or E175s)? Really? NWA said their current hiring takes into account the parking of about 30 DC9-30s this year, and they are still hiring. (or willing to drain their pool).
Others are more interested in trashing the dream job they feel they might never have.
