For you it might not be an opportunity, but I'm sure there are plenty of other Colgan pilots that would like a chance to bid jet equipment. For them, it would be an opportunity. What's wrong with more choices?

I have no prob with choices, and I'm sure some ppl would like to bid the jet. MY point is it's not a step up; it's a lateral move.

I would disagree with that. The CRJ-900 rates are about to be decided by the arbitrator, and I'd bet that the new rate will max out at $90+/hr. The most a Colgan pilot could ever make is $78/hr. For the Colgan lifers, it could be a step up.

A few years ago I walked in an informational picket line in EWR. I was an Express pilot and we joined in with the Cal pilots to highlight our slow moving contract negotiations. It was a very impressive sight, several hundred pilots walking through the terminal and across the street to the Marriot in uniform. Just about every one in the terminal watched as we walked through and many asked what exactly was going on. Therefore we achieved our goal, we brought our issue to the attention of the traveling public.
It was worth the effort by all of us involved and it certainly made Continental a little unhappy.

I don't mind flying the Saab at all, but I wouldn't mind bidding jet equipment either. In the long run I think one list would be better, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

the unofficial word on the street is pcl pilots won the arbitration over the merged senority list. The may be flying saabs and q's and you flying jets faster than you think.

What does Chuck Colgan think about you using his picture as your avatar?

Nice to see he trimmed the nose hair for the occasion.

Just flying a super shiny jet isn't the opportunity. It's more bases, more schedules, more money in some cases.. etc. Oh, and working under a CONTRACT!!

AWESOME!

I hope all you nay sayers are reading this right now. I remember people saying that this would never happen, that it couldn't happen, that the Colgan's wern't going anywhere, it's two companies all seperate, yadda yadda yadda.

Well, we told you so. (Oh god that felt good.)

You can't look to the past to make decisions about the future, you have to look at the future. Looks like Colgan will be a union shop and I couldn't be happier about it. Looking forward to working together with the PCL folks to actually "Make it better"

(actually I'm still looking forward to getting the hell out, but hey)

Haha, good one, flynryan!! Each time I see the infomercial for that unwanted hair removal tool, that comes to mind....

So, any word on the supposed conference call last night??
