Seems to me if pilots don't show up to picket the message to management: our pilots won't show up to strike....

Said another way: You can't win games if you don't show up to practice.

I'll second that, Gus Grissom style." F$%K an A Bubba" ! just a bunch of little girls that are afraid to get their willies slapped

We have no complaint with you or the Colgon pilot group. Our complaint is with Corp. They bought the Qs and they will profit from them and that is who we are picketing against. Our contract with Pinnacle is very clear on scope. What we want is all of the pilots to be on the same seniority list. We also want all the pilots to be working under a fair contract that raises the bar for everybody.
I will be there on Monday feel free to come over and talk to us.
not real informed about all this, but why do you want everyone on the same senority list?? Colgan at the bottom??

If it happens of course Colgan at the bottom. No one at Colgan would get to vote and the majority at pinnacle would vote for a staple.

What are the benefits for pinnacle of one list if they dont want to fly the Q's?
Why do you assume that they don't want to fly the Q?

A staple job would be impossible due to laws that have been passed requiring fair intergration. Seniority would be integrated according to Allegheny-Mowhawk.

Why would anyone NOT want a single list? If you wanted to stay on the Colgan side, you could...or if you wanted to fly the RJ, you could...nobody would bump you out of your current position. All that a single list would mean is job security for both of us without fear of whipsaw AND more opportunities for everybody.

New hires at PCL are being awarded CRJ 900 FO positions and CRJ 200 CA positions. The CA seat is 60K a year. Those jobs could have been yours now even if the list was a staple, which it won't be. Why are Colgan pilots so insistent on giving up pay raises and career advancement opportunities? PCL management has done a brilliant job of hood winking the Colgan pilots to forgo career and income advancement in order to supposedly protect their current turbo prop jobs - that no one is trying to take from them. Rumours of 100 Q400's? Talk to some of the LoneStar pilots that heard the same rumours about their DO 328's - right before Trenary put the company in bankruptcy and shut the doors. He's been there done that and he is playing the same game again with you. He will hold out promises of new AC - but only if you stay cheap and not unionized. In the end you will be left with nothing - like the LoneStar pilots, and it will be Trenary that will do it to you, not the Pinnacle pilots or ALPA.

It would be nice if you could ask your management which airlines they were talking to about which AC, how many AC, how long a service agreement, how close to a 'deal' are you etc. But you probably can't and even if you could all you will get are evasive answers. Because there is nothing there but a bunch of talk. No real jobs, no bigger AC to fly or bigger paychecks, nothing but talk. Think you are going to get your time and get out? Hiring booms come and go and the odds are most of you will be in the same place 5 years from now - if it is still there.

It seems the Colgan pilots have been scared into worrying about what they could loose. If you sit down and look at it unemotionally you will see you have everything to gain and nothing to loose.

The only benefit to the PCL pilot group to merge the groups is so that we wont get undercut by pilots making significantly less money with meager benefits. The benefits to the Colgan pilot group are significantly more money, better benefits, and established work rules in addition to career progression opportunities and job security.

I'm also curious why you seem to think none of us want to fly t-props? I'll fly whatever has the best balance of income vs. quality of life. There are a few pretentious people out there that look down on t-props but not very many.

Think you need to relax, they don't want to fly the Q, they want a new contract. They are frustrated that management at Pinnacle claims they can't afford pay raises yet can throw millions into th Q. They deserve a new contract, and while they are protesting the Q, they are not briging you into anything....
i guess i think that when i see numerous posts like this. obviously these folks dont speak for everyone!!

I doubt anybody at Colgan is worried about shop closing up, Moving to another regional, no matter what change in eqipment or pay is not progression, A Colgan FO makes more than a pinnacle FO does for the first 2 years...(per hour only) I've only met 1 3rd year colgan FO. What happens if Delta buys Northwest? Will the pinnacle flying stay around for long, or will they push it to another DCI carrier?

Q pay sucks. It's been beaten to death. Colgan pilots want to change it...

I guess in the end, just tryin to say, No carrier is perfect. Not gonna bash somebody for going to work at a diffrent airline. Be a lot easier if pilots spent less time trying to brag about their BBD, and more time working together to promote positive, and progressive change. Rather then telling me the Q rates suck, why don't you call manassas for me and tell them what you think?...

When can we start the union drive again? I know with the generous pay increases and QOL improvements that it would just be a waste of time; but just for my own curiousity, when could we start again?

You can't file with the NMB until August, so you could probably start the campaign in a few months. Question is, how many people are still left from the OC? You might have to rebuild the whole thing with fresh people.

sorry dude, by why are pcl pilots so insistent on talking to colgan pilots like you are my big brother? Sorry, but crj-900 or rj-200 CA is not an advancement in my career. Sorry, but my little saab will get me where I need to go careerwise just as quick as your rj. THe rest of your post I agree with, by I'm sorta tired of RJ drivers telling me what an "opportunity" it would be.

For you it might not be an opportunity, but I'm sure there are plenty of other Colgan pilots that would like a chance to bid jet equipment. For them, it would be an opportunity. What's wrong with more choices?
