Not a matter of belief. I know it's not true because I know people there who had no turbojet time. You can believe whatever you like.

I understand that, but the CP told me they had problems with guys who only had prop time and they now want jet time. With that said, good luck to all who apply and I hope you get the job if that's what you want.

I handed the CP a resume from a friend that only had turboprop time. He told me that they have had trouble with turbo prop guys and that they wanted people with jet time. My friend got a call and was hired a few weeks later. He also had another guy walk in his resume besides me.

The point is, Kalitta is still hiring people with turbo prop only time.

The biggest thing I flew before coming to Kalitta was an EMB-120. I upgraded in 2 1/2 years with no issues. I will say it is a huge step and takes alot of effort on your part to get up to speed. We have had a few problems with turbo prop only guys, but we also have trouble with jet time guys too.

If it's not too much trouble, would you guys mind posting what a typical line looks like just to get an idea...thanks.

Just paste seventeen days in row on a calendar somewhere and I think you'll have it. A friend of mine who flies at Kalitta says he rarely flies his "scheduled" line which isn't much of a coincidence being that Kalitta is a supplemental "non-scheduled" carrier. I think he describes the schedule as the seventeen day "mystery tour."

Very true! One good thing that came out of the last contract was, Bid Line Guarantee. When we are busy you can see lines as high as 90 hours. They can sit you on your a$$ for 17 days and you still get paid for your line guarantee. When it is slow....well it is slow and nobody is breaking guarantee.

They do build a few split lines. For example, this month I go to work for 7 days, come home for 6, then go back for 10. But that is the exception rather than the rule for me.

Guam, dont you have anything else to do? Man if I wasn't stuck on R4 right now I'd be in Ramstien at Rosies with her granddaughter.

No, I just want to harass you, look anyone applying, we even hired this loser, he flew the BAE 146.

what's up? you can have her, too young for me and cold over there man. I like where Gator is, summer, South America!!!!

Easy boys. I thought you guys were hot after that fine looking navy doc. Besides, since 40 is the new 30, Samantha's hangin with daddy.

Hey don't get me wrong, I would have taken the navy doc off your hands if she knew how to drink.

Sh*!, are you kidding, she was wasted, she could barely walk.

You would have had a really nice time with her dude, the mom might have watched it all from the next room, how about that? ..with a shot in her hand for you after you finished.
Go Ramstein!!!

Whats the problem?

I got the same thing from the CP about wanting me to have jet time, I'm a turboprop only guy that would love to get on, but i'm not going to go somewhere intermediately just to get jet time, hopefully that policy changes.

That's strange. They must have had trouble with the last batch of turboprop guys because some of the most recent classes have had a number of 1900 drivers.

It is a competitive industry. I have heard they hired some guys with "heavy time" lately and naturally they will get picked up first.

Do not include me in your three way with the navy doc. I was working on something else entirely. You guys were doing just fine up to the point when she flamed out.

Turbo-Prop guys: You can't win if you don't play. Get your apps in and let them tell you no. Don't speculate. Don't assume. Good luck.
