It means he had military experience which could be a big reason.

Fair enough, and you're probably right, but I'm still not impressed. Whether it's a C17 in the military or a 727 for an ACMI, flying is flying and to turn away people with ACMI experience flying freighters because they don't have 4000 plus hours but hire a guy with 1100?? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Life isn't fair. If it was it would suck. Being unfair means those of us with drive and determination will advance while those waiting for the "fair" part will lag behind.

Met a UPS MD-11 FO that was hired with 1800 hours. He was a navy pilot. It is the nature of the business.

The chap who got hired with 1100 hours is a good pilot! He deserves it. Obviously, his sim evaluation went well! Plus he's a nice guy to boot!

i don't think that c-17 guy was hired for his flying skills, i think he was hired for his remarkable ability to pimp bitches. dont let these guys hate-play on player

The way ALL hiring should be determined.

There should only be one question in the mind of the interviewer sitting across the table form the candidate;

Is this guy gonna be able to help us pull some tail on the trip, or just be a game killer that we have to slam-click for 17 days straight?
