I'm bored, thought I'd start a thread... I've been hearing a LOT of captains say they won't be going out of their way to get a DAL guy on the jumpseat because of the new crappy pass privileges. Not to say they won't let him/her on at all, but no favors... anyone else hearing this?

p.s. I have little if any say in the right seat.. not my idea

I do not think this is a good idea, and very immature. The delta pilots did not make the new pass benefits at ASA, management did. If anything stop doing the company favors, I think most did that a long time ago.

I don't think that is a good idea, and we automatically have to pay our $50 a year for passes regardless. That is the way it goes if you want to nonrev on Delta. We all pay it. If you don't want to, then show up 2 hours before the flight and hope.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Do Delta mainline employees have to pay to fly on their planes now too? I highly doubt that.

Don't blame the pilots for the gross management FUBAR! DAL's been good to me...maybe not always terribly cordial, but I've been getting on none the less.

Give 'em the benefit of the doubt.

We have to pony up $50/yr for nonrev privileges. Nothing per-leg, unless international for taxes, etc.

Yeah that's nothing compared to the BONE that DAL gave the Delta Connection folks.

Here's my beef with charging to fly. If I work at a department store that sells clothes, they give me a discount. We'll call it half off. If I buy a pair of jeans for half off I just cost the company 50% of the possible money they could have charged for that same pair of jeans. The department store loses money when their employees use their benefits.

Now for Delta, how much is that seat worth once the main cabin door closes? NOTHING! They can't resell that exact seat to someone else. It is money lost whether it has my butt in it or no butt in it. If I take that empty seat it costs them the price of a CUP of Diet Coke and some crackers. I might be mistaken and if I am will someone please correct me. In my eyes it seems as if Delta is just trying to stick it to the people who make them all their money.

And don't give me that crap about how it is only 5 bucks plus miles. That's fine if you're a 21 year old ramper with no kids. In my case, you take that number and times it by 4 it starts to add up. Not to mention it's STANDBY!

Are you sure that 21 year old ramper has no kids? Odds are that he has been on Maury Pauvich.

ah yes, lets all blame each other game, the people up there sure know how to keep our brains going...lets start pointing the finger at the top execs.
their plans are working, let them blame each other so we can rob them even more and the idiot pilots will blame skywest and mesa pilots....
nice

I can understand if someone wants to charge us for non reving. I just can't understand that why it's only a dci carrier. Can anyone explain for the exact same seat, a United or American or Frontier Etc. They don't have to pay? I am so pissed that Delta would do this to it's own people.
I am not saying that I will deny another Delta guy, but I have to admit that their pilots should stand up for us also. We make money hand over fist for Detla and they want to screw us. Hmm sounds like another slow down for ASA if you ask me. I will write up and cost asa so much money it will make their heads spin.
