There is enough water in West Texas to sail a boat? What you need to do is fly to Venice, Italy (on us no less) or Nice, France and see some really big boats--the ones airline CEOs have. Have fun in ELP.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Dude, you are by far the biggest joke on this board. Most on here (besides buffoons like instructorclown) realize no one is impressed by how many 767's you have domiciled in ATL. Flying an airliner is not impressive ok????? I know that is extremely hard for you to digest so please do your best. The things that flying an airliner DO provide (on varying scales) are QOL, compensation, and customer/employee service. SWA is absolutely head and shoulders above DAL in all 3 of those categories - and many more for that matter. Flying an ILS into ELP or flying an ILS into Venice is still flying an ILS - it's absolute brain dead work. However, what is nice is the fact SWA compensates you 50 dollars more an hour for doing it and treats the customer and its employees 10 fold better as well.

Catch a clue dude. No one cares nor is impressed with you or DAL.

I am very excited, I love Hawaii, I hate Texas.

Anybody know how much a 737 pilot at Delta made BEFORE the BK? How did this rate compare to SWA? I keep hearing from the experts here on the board how Delta needs to do this and that, but I don't remember them thanking Delta back in 2000 for RAISING the bar.

I think it should be imperative amongst "profitable" carriers to continue to raise the bar. Therefore when financially troubled carriers re-emerge...there is a target to shoot for. Hopefully, SWA payrates (industry highest today) will become the benchmark average when re-emerging carriers re-negotiate their heavily concessionary contracts. Hope the economy doesn't tank, and fare hikes continue!

Before you start throwing stones to the DAL house...for what it matters, does anyone company "get 'er done" right for their customers all the time? (SWA, CAL, UAL, etc....)

Well said. Bravo.

Looking forward to my 18.5 hr layover in LBB this weekend. College football, going hunting, then comes smoked dove, huge steaks, and Cu'rs Light. Try that in Venice. Oh yea, and Texas Women!

PS. Venice smells like $hit when it's not underwater, Murano glass can be bought at Target, and the women have more hair on their body than a sheepdog.

I bet after the paycuts Delta took the General spends his Venice overnights in his hotel room looking for free porn, posting on FI, and eating Top Raman and instant oatmeal. When he gets back to the money he was making during the Clinton administration, he might stop eating meals that are made with the hotel room coffee maker or iron.

I call it a "manufactured home." I haven't had the wheels on it in a long time. Maybe if I get hired at Delta I can afford to get the underpinning on it to keep out the varmits.

737 Pylt, how's your interest only arm on your ATL duplex? Are you going to be able to keep up with the payments when you don't get your scheduled raises or take take another round of pay cuts?

Actually, you are wrong. I have flown to Vencie once now from ATL and I really enjoyed it. We stay at a really nice hotel that treats us well. The food was very good in town, and I look forward to doing it again, but I have a few more cities I want to fly to first. It is great to have choices and actually look forward to going places on someone else's dime, and not in a green jumpsuit. Go get um Iceman, in that, um, heavy tanker.

The money I get pimping out your old lady I spent yesterday on a pay toilet, but we're making progress!

How's that SWA career coming?;)

General, I have been to more cities and countries than you will ever see. I know you are impressed with yourself, but it doesn't mean a thing to me. I find my happiness here in the good ole USA speaking to english speaking controlers. Italy and France are over rated but enjoy.

but your actual fixed costs are going up, and without those hedges, it would be tougher for you to post that profit.

General,

You say you understand, but you don't talk the walk.

Do you understand that without changing anything, including fares, that SWA would have made roughly the same amount of a profit if oil had been at $50 a barrel for the quarter?

And to say without those hedges is moot. SWA would have initiated a different business plan.

Thanks to both of you for replying. You guys will never learn. And, Lihue and Kona are NOT in West Texas. Am I wrong here?

Bye Bye--General Lee

No General, you are not wrong there. My concern is that your airline does such a lousy job of serving it's current route structure. Maybe you should fix the current mess before you extend bad service to a new destination.
