I did but since they arent hiring CA anymore i didnt call them back for an interview. Should have gone just for fun and interview prep for elsewhere. Good luck though

I know that most everyone already hired at Compass is a regional captain, but I wonder why many of you who have yet to interview have a negative disposition. I say this because the opportunity cost of going to Compass is receiving FO pay in the short term. The long term benefit is CA, QOL and being with a start up company (a start up that isn't really operating like a start up).

I agree that for a regional CA, the move to Compass is not a lateral one. However, for a regional FO and junior regional CA, the move couuld be the smartest one you have ever made.

Just my 2 cents. We all know that in this biz, your future is mapped as if you were throwing darts at the provervial dart board.

Well said CRJ Driver....I am anxious to return to 121 and ALL the facetts you mentioned are why I am hopeful to get an opportunity there....."A start up thats not really a start up"....Well said....

How long after you put your stuff in to phone call? I've had my stuff in there for months and no luck so far.

Ouch, yeah I've had my stuff since early June. I haven't heard anything so far, guess I'll just continue to update every 2 weeks. Thanks

Not trying to flame here, but why would you leave an Airbus FO position for a regional? Clearly you are aiming for a Capt position at Compass on the E175. That's pretty unusual - most people try to go the opposite direction. Is Compass that great of any opportunity? What am I missing?

Good luck!

He is probably figuring that his career will be more stable at Compass (owned and with a flow through to a legacy), than at a Low Cost Carrier.

I wouldn't look too hard into the flow thru agreement that compass has with northwest. look at what happened to midatlantic and the wholly owned's like psa, pdt, and alg. when midatlantic was sold, so was the flow thru. midatlantic was created in bankruptcy by the same CFO (neil cohen) with almost the same type and number of airplanes. It was then sold off to generate a huge dollar amount to help with usair's bankruptcy funding. ask anyone left at PSA or PDT about that one and they'll tell ya they got the shaft(especially psa). no more midatlantic, no more flow through. although compass is a good choice for some individuals now (high time f.o., or low seniority ca), i wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for a flow up. it's merely a selling point to acquire high time people to fill their captain needs.
has anyone addressed the idea there as to what would happen to the flow thru per chance that compass is sold? would it still be honored? i can just see it now, a bunch of compass guys banging on nwa's door saying let us in, and nwa saying not anymore! This would probably be my number question in the interview.
If nwa was smart they would just start assigning seniority numbers now. that way there won't be any confusion when compass and mesaba are both sold off for profit in the next few years.
Like I said, Compass would be a good idea for someone to upgrade relatively soon, or who is a junior ca, but don't sell the farm based on the flow up. just my $.02

Aren't ex-Midatlantic pilots being offered class dates at U.S. Airways mainline now? I thought they were part of the CEL (combined eligibility list).

I think the flow through at Compass will work. Mostly because of what I have been told by higher ups at NWA.
