Man you guys can't see the forest because the trees are in the way! Who do you think wants it
this way? DELTA. Who is telling ASA to park at every concourse in ATL? DELTA. Who is involved in every decision that is made at ASA lately? DELTA. When was the last time we heard from Uncle Jerry? Can you read between the lines. A man in the ramp tower recentlly told me, Sir Delta does this everyday. We know that Delta is a fine tuned machine in many ways. Read between the lines!

701EV

So what are you reading between the lines? Delta buying us back? Fat chance.

Wholy cow.....what nimrod thinks Delta is going to buy back ASA????

This new boarding policy will be like many other policies at ASA.....not based in any reality, and will simply be ignored. Remember the APU mandate, not to fire it up until 20 mins prior departure?? We all ignored that, I wasn't about to sit on a hot/cold/dark airplane and neither was anyone else.

The F/A's letter was very well put and to the point. Once again ASA punishing the best perorming employees.

Who really runs ASA? Does ASA have any--ANY--talented management? A company can run well with three or four good managers, does ASA have even one at the senior level? This stuff is really unbelieveable. Running an airline is challenging, but not harder than many other industries. This is not neurosurgery, or rocket science.

The really frustrating thing is that ASA has SOOOOOO much potential. If some talent and soul were injected into ASA, it could be a great airline, and a good place to work. I have no idea what it would take to overcome the institutional angst that is ASA.

I can only think managment at ASA (or SKYW, DAL, whoever) really just doesn't want ASA to succeed. Why? I have absolutely no idea. There ARE talented managers out there, ASA simply seems to have no interest in attracting, or retaining people who could really turn things around.

Sorry for the rant.

Damn...I haven't been with ASA for two years now and it still gets me really upset.

Who really runs ASA? .

Delta, always have, always will. Since G&J left, we've had ex-Delta managers running ASA. Funny though, they're spending all that money on the old Eastern hangar to relocate the G/O and paving a parking lot for 1600 employess. The sky is not falling, ASA will be here for quite awhile.

Tower will give the go-ahead to board when a crew calls in-range.

Here's what will happen:

They'll land.

They'll wait for a gate.

They'll wait for a wheelchair.

They'll get no answer on the radio when they call to find a ship and gate for the outbound.

They'll grab a quick meal.

They'll get to the plane and face a load of hostile passengers who were told "the crew will be here in 10 minutes".......90 minutes ago!

Shamrock,

Are you F'N kidn' me with that war buzzard crap, you Northeasterner? Shouldn't it be more like, Go Connecticut Huskies? Fight ON!

Uhhhh AU is in Auburn AL which last time I checked was in the SOUTHEAST......maybe I missed something

Thanks for clarifying. Shamrock, however, is from the Northeast and has no affiliation with awwwwburn or Da Souf for that matter. =P

Exactly right! Plus, check flica, ourasa, take a whiz or dump, etc etc, especially if NO progress made on the 28-31. :)

Has it been determined if the FAs babysitting the airplane will be paid anything for their efforts? If they simply get the per diem, this policy really blows for them.

Does the contract recognize the right to take a dump?

Maybe we should give up retro-pay for explicit dump language, right down to the last kernel of corn!

Nobody would take me seriously if I said anything about UCONN so I went with Auburn as a backup. Dating an Auburn alum for 4 years kind of rubbed off on me and I also wanted to disagree with Hoser just this once.

Oh, and I take exception to you saying I have no affiliation with the south. After living here for 5 years I've fully embraced my inner redneck, thank you very much!

I stand corrected afer herin' da truf. I lived there 5 years as well, but would NEVER EVER NEVER claim it. Suit yourself you buzzard lover! Fight ON!

Yeah, but seein' as how I hate that dang b-ball game I hasn't had as much to be proud of as y'all.

Yes, section 15 para F (just pencil it in if it's not there):

The company recognizes the need to address pilot excrement needs during duty periods involving flight operations.

While I'm not going to express an opinion on this matter directly.....I'm sure I'll get a good chuckle when I can't park because my gate's occupied by and A\C loaded and ready to push just waitin' on the crew......which happens to be .....ME!

This is priceless!

Yes, I fully understand that Delta runs ASA. I should have been more exacting and asked, why doesn't Delta "run" ASA effectively?

It's strange. Again, ASA has so much untapped potential, but no one seems even remotely interested in improving the airline for real. Silly and bizarre policies, based on totally unrealisitc views have been the norm at ASA for years. I think fins said the senior staff didn't even bother to renew sida badges this year.....well, why renew when you never go to the flight line.

Why can't Delta figure this out? Why can't SKYW figure this out? If it's all about money, then Delta and SKYW are leaving a lot of money on the table by not getting ASA to perform. Is it worth this money just to torment the ASA employee group??? I doubt it.

Overall, SKYW seems reasonably well run. Delta has done a major turn around.....what is holding up ASA.
I really don't get it.

Wow, can you imagine how mad all those passengers are going to be when their flight is cancelled for lack of crew after they've been sitting on the airplane for over an hour?

Can't wait to get onboard and see that the aircraft is too hot....and deplane the aircraft for safety!!;) This is going to be GREAT!!! Talk about DELAY CITY!!! Another excellent idea by an IDIOTIC mgmnt group that knows NOTHING about running an airline.

Um, they'd have ground AC hooked up to it from the jetway. That stuff works good.

I'll believe it when I see it! Kind of like..." the checks in the mail..." Riiiiiiiight! Our idiots in mgmnt could not even fight their way out of a paper bag, so I doubt that they are smart enough to try anything like this!

The air over at B, so far, is as good or better than the APU. For fun, close the door while you're still hooked up to the jetway air and ask the fat FA to open the door again, I bet she hits the other side of the jetway, if she can keep her chubby fingers on the door handle...

It won't work, we have "plug" type FAs.
