CRJ 200 climb performance in Summer

Man, it's bad. When I first started flying, I was like, whoa Captain, it's hard to keep this thing afloat! I think he knew what I meant, but I wanted to go faster so I dumped it over to about 200 per for a bit. Dude, it just wouldn't climb! Captain told me not to climb at that rate, but man, we gotta climb faster on hot days! How do you guys do it!?

Don't go so high. If it doesn't hold 500 fpm then tell atc and level off or descend. What is your company profile speed?

It likes FL260-FL280 during the summer. Especially, those heavy ones going to MFE/CRP/MTY/IAH. The Canadians weren't thinking this airplane would be flying south of the border or thinking the airplanes would be flying 3 hour trips.
