Wondering if there has been any new meetings with management on rates?

Hell, we have FO's (Capts Flying Right Seat) making 180.00 an hour! I swapped 3 time and each time it was Captains flying together! One case, the Captain Flying Left Seat had 20 years, on the right 17 years!!!!

Lovely, Just Lovely!!

This just came out on the ALPA website.

June 20, 2007

At the direction of your MEC, the Negotiating Committee met with Piedmont Management on June 19th and 20th to discuss the placement of large turboprop aircraft at Piedmont Airlines. Representing the pilots were MEC Chairman Capt. Gordon Daniel, Capt. Pete Genero, First Officer Adrian Osio, and First Officer Kevin Cameron. Assisting your Negotiating Committee were ALPA attorney Steve Nagrotsky and ALPA economic analyst Matry Sobol. Representing Piedmont management were Vice President of Operations Michael Scrobola and Attorney Claude Sullivan. There was an in-depth discussion of the concerns of both sides and initial proposals were exchanged. It was agreed to meet again on July 5th and 6th to continue our negotiations.

Wow, I feel so much better now...

ya that had me at the edge of my seat. maybe they ought to think of publishing that, or even making a movie out of it! we need the flow-through bitches. if not then people will keep using pdt as a steppin stone to their regional of choice, instead of flight instructing.

i'm actually curious about the flow-through postcards... it seems like a decent idea. did anyone else fill it out and mail it in??

Postcards

Jelly,
I think the postcards were a great idea, however the MEC again missed or failed to communicate to the pilot group of what they were trying to accomplish. 30% will mail them in and that just again shows National that our pilot group does not stand together, and the idea backfired again.

The postcards should have been self explanatory. Sign the thing & drop it in the mail. Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds.

But you're right, I would be willing to bet that the return rate will be less than 50%.

Wow Nc,
50%? That much? I give you 40% at best. And what about the meeting with the company? Did anything get accomplished? There you have it again, lack of communication.

I don't think they have sent a Dash to paint yet. They said the 15th, then the 18th. I have been watching flight tracker and notheing has showed up yet for BNA. My Cap. said he saw 828 (the supposed candidate) in LGA two days ago.

Whan are these new hires coming online?

According to "Ask Piedmont" - 838 is the first A/C to the paint shop.

Isn't 838 the plane that sat on the SBY ramp for like 1 1/2 years with pieces missing?

Last Monday morning my dispatcher told me on the phone that 838 was getting ready to fly out to the paint shop.

Does anyone know if it left?

I swear I saw that thing in PHL on Wednesday.

Make sure those vests are inflated. The ship is sinking faster. MGT is full of BS.

That’s great advice. Thanks I’m glad you posted it. I don’t know what I would have done if you didn’t. I needed that from someone that knows all about what’s going on but doesn’t work here. You Hawker guys really know!

Dude

I did my time at PDT. I just jumped ship.

Thats great Macky. There are a lot of people at this company that depend on this place to make a go of it and to have a decent lifestyle. I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you here at PDT. You did your time here...but don't forget where you came from.

Nothing sarcastic, just trying to figure out your math. CA pay on the -300 caps at $74 an hour. Does PDT have and 250% pay rate??

Not correct. The -100 caps at just under $74 / hour. The -300 caps at just under $84 / hour.

The math isn't difficult. The company was/is offering double premium pay for picking up open trips on a scheduled day off. That is 8 hours of additional pay over the scheduled block for each day of work. Depending on the trip that could about equal triple pay and easily be $180 / hour.

You are right! As i have stated in my past posts, PDT was the first real flying job I had. I will never forget that. I met great people there who are smart and fun.
All I am saying is that the MGT is bringing the place down.

Thanks for the correction. My information is from airlinepilotcentral, which isn't always the best. It shows the caps at $65 for the -100, and $74 for the -300. Don't you guys have any more -200s? I flew for ALG based out of MDT until August of 02, right when the Scheiße schlug den Ventilator. Don't need to understand German to understand what I just wrote.

I do understand German, however your words do not fit into the direction of this conversation.

Not is it bringing Piedmont down, MGT is bringing down US Airways as a whole!

Nail on the head brother.

Lets put the crews up in the worst locations possible. Give them 10 days off, non commutable trips and see what that will do to moral.

This is what low moral will do....you will find it impossible to staff the airline. You will have to cancel flights because of lack of crews. you will have delays after delays.
So what did your penny pinching do? It ran the airline into the ground.
But if you work for management you won't take responsibility but just blame it all on the aviation cycle that we are in.

Ran PSA into the ground as well. I heard from a pilot there who said that TK guy was in CLT and told the pilots they were parking either 3 or 5 more airplanes for July.

The wholly owned managements are reaping what they've sowed for years.
