Here is a scenario for you. Person A gets hired at Compass tomorrow as a captain. Person B gets hired off the street at NWA next year. 2 years from now, Person A wants to flow up to NWA. Who has the better Seniority at NWA, in other words, if you are hired at Compass, are you given a NWA seniority number and/or date. I know that when you start at NWA you make first year pay, but I wasnt sure about the seniority.
thanks

You are locked into compass for 30 months without seniority at mainline until you arrive on the first day of mainline class. So in other words you are better off staying at your current regional then getting hired by mainline. Compass is for FO's at regionals looking to get back to one of the domiciles as captain. Don't go there expecting to get to NWA mainline, it's not going to go very well for you.

The only thing you will "flowthrough" at compass is a big pile of poopy.

Naysayers! History is rife with examples of flowthrough deals which were beneficial and fair to regional pilots. Like uhm...

Excellent point. Seriously, though, can anyone name an example of a flow-through/up that actually took place.

The only one that I readily could tell you that ultimately seemed to work is XJT to CAL.

Notice all the disclaimer words I used though like "readily", "ultimately", and "seemed."

Then again assuming that Compass will still be around in 30 months is a giant leap

For those going only to Compass for the NWA number had better take a goo hard look at the facts.

1. Neil Cohen is in charge at Compass and Mesaba
2. Neil Cohen was the guy that built Mid Atlantic.
3. he used the same planes E170 series.
4. Same terms in Compass contract as in Mid Atlantic, Can be sold after 10 aircraft or 2 years
5. MidAtlantic was sold as ten A/C
6. Furloughed US Air guys got a stable to the Republic list

Ask yourself this? What happens after NWA sells off Compass to whoever...what happens to your number....Oh ya you were never given one, and now that your no longer a subsidiary of NWA you'll never get one. I think it's a bad deal...history will repeat itself

Hi!

Do you get an NWA seniority number when you join Compass, or when you start at NWA after Compass???

Wasn't Mesaba supposed to have flow-up negotiations in 97'... and 98'... and any other year where the idea was thrown onto the table by NWA as a bone?
Unless Compass is filled with furloughed NWA guys, I don't really see a flow-up with any meat to it actually happening.

its a done deal. There is no "guessing" as to "if" it will ever happen.

The NWA pilots VOTED Compass AND the Flo-Through into their contract.

Compass interviews are done by NWA pilots.
The current Compass pilots/management/fa's/instructers are paid on a NWA paycheck stub.

Not saying you are wrong, but do you have proof of this?
