Then there is the QOL issue. Most pilots now fly 90 hours with only 12 days off per month. The ability to trip trade is severely limited since we are always below min reserve coverage. This the result of PBS, which has killed our industry/ way of life.
If the rule was to change today that would be 1196 pilots that wouldnt retire for 5 years. Assuming most of them are captains I would think that means stagnation.
Bottom line, you'd be a fool to turn down CAL.
You're not the first to call me a fool for my decision. But I'd argue that only a fool would fly for a major airline that has a worse contract than their regional affiliate, and especially a fool to work for a major airline where you must go without health benefits for you and your family for half a year.
Have fun with all that for the next four to five years. I'll stay at XJT until I get a better job than CAL.

Are you curious how Colgans new Q400's are going to effect your operation up there? I've heard that CAL management would like nothing more then to get rid of the replacement jets that are in EWR.
By the way, I've got great health care for my family. You just have to do a little research.
One last thing, I'll have lots of fun over the next four or five years and even more fun when your pulling gear for me one day.
I don't want to stay at ExpressJet forever, but I do not want to work at CAL anymore either. As other airlines begin to hire, I bet you will see many pilots passing on the 'opportunity' to work at CAL.
It's unlikely that I will be yanking your gear, since I won't be at CAL.
If the age 60 rule changes this week or next, I doubt you will be in the left seat anytime soon.
Also, there's always that UAL merger rumor to think about.
Why are CAL new hires quitting again? I think I will save myself the grief of having to quit from there when a real airline calls me.
Obviously you're just a flamebaiting homo, since most if not all of your posts involve hammering off about how much CAL sucks.
Stay at XJT. You're doing the right thing.
So now I am a 'moron', a 'putz' and a 'flamebaiting homo' just because I don't want to work at CAL?
No, mainly it is because of the horid CAL contract.
So if it is so great, why are pilots quitting?
I never said it was great, but if you can't see the future beyond the end of your nose, you deserve everything you'll never have. Only a jerkoff would stay at a place where career advancement is limited by someone else.
Which brings me to the two things we have here that you don't have there: Scope and a 12.75% b fund.
And I don't believe your story anyway. I think the gratification you seek would be more easily found if you spanked it to internet porn. So get busy with that.
To Recap:
