I hear there is a female PSA FO based CLT that feels she is too good to do a walk around. Has anyone ever flown with her before? any stories?

I don't know about PSA, but there was one at PDT (female, CLT-based) while I was there.

I'm sure there are male FOs similarly special.

Chuck Norris is too good for a walkaround. His mere appearance on the ramp scares the plane into shape.

I was told she is a blonde with 4 inch black roots and needs a drink after logging IMC.. what?????

I will never forget this one!

A friend of mine had a female first officer who didn’t want to do the walkaround because it was raining and she had spent a long time doing her hair. She asked her captain if he would mind doing the walkaround because his hair was short it would dry really fast and still look nice.

Captain’s (big smile) response: I will make you a deal, you hurry on and do the walkaround and when you get back I will give you a free haircut!

Is she an older gal?

This is rediculous. She should be pulled off line immediately. This is a safety of flight issue.

Are Captains putting up with this? It is the Captain's responsibility to ensure the aircraft is airworthy. Wonder what else this lady is not accomplishing?

We are part of a proud and honorable profession. The public trusts us to do our jobs.

But HEY - Finally a good reason to wear your hat!

Doesn't your FOM clearly state that it is the Captains responsibility to do the walk around when the temp is 18 degrees C not to exceed 28 degrees C ramps must be bare and dry and wind must be less than 10 knots.

First Officers complete walk around all other times.... Thats what ours says.

Nice!!!! LMAO

I flew with a captain who said that he would do the walk around any time the weather was really bad. Then he went on to say that in 35 years of flying he'd never seen a really bad weather day.

As far as the PSA FO... I think I know who you are talking about, but she does do the walk arounds so I would say the rumor is just that.

Yeah...but is she hot?

Here we go! If I had a penny for everything I've heard that.. and then we wind up with mediocre pilots that have no place in aviation because "She" looks good.

btw.... I enjoy doing the walk around, I think it's almost the highlight of a flight.. getting up close and personal with one's airplane!

Yeah...that and on the ramp,no one can hear you cut the cheese.

Just remember big fella, the APU exhaust is an outlet only.

The walk around is the best, part you get away from the capt that only complains about his job (should move on instead of B!tch) and the flt att that complains about everything (I always let the bad ones know that no waitress makes more than they do, no waitress gets flt benefits, and no waitress gets medical). been called in twice for that comment and the chief pilot laughed

I was flying with a MALE FO that rarely did the preflight, yeah at this company it was the FOs duties. One day, it was raining, and he comes out to the plane late, and sits in his seat, without doing the preflight. We boarded the pax and the FA closed the door. The first thing on the checklist was "preflight...............complete". I questioned him on his "doing the preflight", he said, "its raining". Had him open the cabin door and go do a preflight.

Lets just say, he wasnt my favorite FO, and I wasnt his favorite captain.

Just when you thought you've heard it all............

I flew with a (male) FO who didn't want to do the walk around because he had hair gel in his hair and was going to meet his girlfriend. He was afraid his spike gel hair would collapse making his hair flat. God forbid ..the ego is just as bad with the guys.

Was he with Mesa?

Walk Around

How do you guys do it in places like Ottowa, Toronto, Montreal; Canada when it is winter and I mean WINTER say - C Plus windchill?
