...for the market they are in.
Operative phrase.. I've since learned about this form of real estate "Comparable" and what it spells out in terms of QOL and pay.

V70 it is all what you make of it, our turnover is very low, average pilot has been here 6 yrs, average DC-9 Capt 10 yr+, some have even tuned down NJ because they feel the QOL at USA Jet is better if you want to live in the YIP area. More time at home with the family.
Ever since 1984 when I entered flying there has been a "pilot shortage". This advertisement helps keep the schools in business. If there truly had been a pilot shortage salaries would have to be raised all across the board, especially at the commuter/regional level. One would not have to start at 12-18k/yr regardless of previous experience.
Age 65 is ill timed now with the 10,000+ pilots on furlough or under employed... the time for that is when a REAL shortage develops (if that ever is possible).
Hi!
Over 1/2 the USAJet pilots fly the DC-9s PAX. If on reserve they have a 2 hr. callout. If not, during the NCAA season a 6-month schedule of 6/4, 6/3 type schedules with 12-13 days off a month.

Again VT70 you show how little you know of our operation. In an operational fleet of 16 airplanes right now there is a total of three DMIs spread amongst those airplanes, this is typical of our operation. If fact in my ten year here I do not recall flying any airplane with more than one DMI.
USA Jet pilots care to chime in with thier experiences with DMI's at USA Jet?
Thank you 737, for your recognition of how far you are up the "cool" scale from a bottom feeder only shows how little you know what goes on at our level. May you never have to eat in the same restaurant as a bottom feeder, or heavens for bid stay in the same hotel? I mean after all you are a DAL pilot.
No, they're having to do that because they interview EVERYBODY who meets their mins (a great policy by the way) and then end up only hiring about 15% of those they interview.
