Not so hard if your spouse is making lots of cash, you are retired military or are otherwise independently wealthy. Then it's easy to take the "high" road and talk about free markets while putting your own salary at risk.

Not to mention what new welfare they will promise to the seniors to get their vote.

I would almost kill to be able to invest the 7.5% I pay every check in Social Security and the 7.5% in Social Security my employer is required to match.

Of course I'll never see SS but I'm just happy my money buys votes to send quality leaders to cushy jobs on Capital Hill.
