I recieved a call this morning from someone at Go Jet about a captain position. I am not sure how they got my resume but the lady said that she had it.
What is the true story about this outfit ? Some say bad and some say not bad to my understanding they are not a scab airline certainly not by the definition but I don't really know to much about them accept all the nonsence you hear on the street which most of it has gone from one mouth to the next.
So If anyone has the true goods on this company please fill me in I have yet to return the phone call.

You should ask yourself: WHY... is an airline cold calling me for a Captain position and WHY are they that desperate for warm bodies? That should be all the warning you need. That... and know that people are being shot down in interviews for having the "Hojet" stench on their resume.

Air Wisconsin, Pinnacle, Mesaba, Expressjet, Peidmont, Skywest, Comair, Chautauqua, Colgan, Eagle... almost every Regional that I can think of is hiring right now. Go somewhere that won't haunt your future!

is it just me or does this same thread show up once a week?

somebody asked if it is really that bad, then we get 10 pages bashing it. my suggestion is that every single other regional is hiring so just avoid this crapy company.

i personally believe its HK, MW, and RZ just posting flame in hopes that every single person on this board forgot who and what gojet was all about and some people might post some "good" things about that hole and they might get more than 4 people to show up for a class! good riddance to TSH and all their shenanigans. That furlough to save a whopping $1600/month times 50 pilots wasnt such a good idea was it?! in just 10 short months they have hired nearly three times that just to replace the furloughs who didnt come back, the FOS that quit as a result of the furlough, and the new FOs that went there just to get time and get out before they got Furloughed. Lesson to be learned, DONT FURLOUGH unless you have too! Especially when you already sh!t on your pilots. FURLOUGHING when every single other "better than TSA" regional is hiring like crazy. Yeah good call Mr. FO, vp of bonehead decisions.
 
Without saying specifics, people at my previous employer fought hard to let people know about this outfit, Gojet. I'm fairly certain that at my new employer if a Gojet person comes in to try and inrterview, he she may not get that far. It's sad in a weird sort of way but it is what it is.

Too many people know about this outfit and what it stands for. In case you have any doubts about what it stands for," To Screw The Trans States Pilots," out of those 70 seat airplanes and not have to pay industry average wages. TSA pilots did not agree to fly them at lower than standard wages. Therefore, HK went out and found warm bodies to fill the seats while paying them whatever he wanted, severely undercutting the TSA pilots' bargaining power. So.... if you took a job there, you were contributing to undercutting the TSA pilots. Not a scab but darn close to it.
 
my 2 cents:

I don't care how much the GJ pilots are paid or not paid, they could be getting $500/hr to fly whatever - the fact is the TSA pilots had a legal binding agreement and made a resolve to stand together when management wanted to reneg on said agreement. In the face of this some decided to BACKSTAB THEIR PROFESSIONAL BROTHERS and take a job at the expense of their fellow pilot.

Are they scabs by definition, I guess not. Do I think they are scum/crap and will never forget in the next 28 years I have left hwat they did - absolutly.

Don't forget to blame alpa for thier ineptness in handling the whole situation. including the joke of leadership at the local level. Blame your own union and union reps for mishandling the whole fiasco.

I worked there and i have move on .. i worked at eagle before working at gojet, got my PIC now im at CAL. it just like every other steping stone. get your PIC and move on.

BUT!

I DON’T BELIVE YOU THAT THEY ARE CALLING YOU FOR A CAPTAIN POSTION! Gojet lowered there upgrade min last month to 2500 tt with a 1000 in company airplane. Which means there are lots of fo’s that can upgrade. With out any more airplanes, upgrade is going to be slow. SO FLAME ON CASPER.. (In a nut shell no airplanes, no upgrade, no street captains.)

I'm glad I signed up, you are real joke, I don't fly a C-150, I'm a CA on a jet and have alot more time than you do, and I didn't go about it the way you did.

Like I said before you should be real thankfull that you got on with CAL, you got lucky. Don't go on here and tell these C-150 dudes to go to GoJet and get PIC and they will end up like you. You are one of the few. You got lucky. So you just need to keep those lips closed which I bet you do when you're flying the line. Some CA at CAL don't know the effects on GoJets so you could be safe, but you know enough of the pilot group at CAL does. Flighinfo is the only place to you feel safe about saying who you are. If you got real balls let us know you're #.

You said that right, it just shows us what a joke these guys and gals are. I've been waiting for one to try to jumpseat on my plane, but I think they all know better.
 
Enjoy watching the CAL ALPA guys walking around with their anti-gojet badge backers! Oh, and somehow I don't think a nutless POS like you will be crying too much about it. After all, you tell everyone you worked at TSH. Crawl back to your hole.
