Not that the Dash is a bad airplane to fly, but the idea flying old worn out Props with no future and a 5 year upgrade isn't too appealing! Not to bash PDT, I have enjoyed my stay here, but unless you have less then 500hrs and live near a base you would be a complete idiot to come here! Those that come here with less the 500hrs stay until about 1000hrs and bail out also!

Really, Can you Blame anyone?

Are only 500 hr pilots showing up at PDT's door?

With the decent pay, I suppose the lack of an RJ makes them much less appealing with everyone else in hiring mode.

The only way things will change is if management wakes up and realizes they need a complete shift in thinking. Instead of hiring 500 hour college grads that want to leave as soon as they have 1000/1500 whatever republic/skywest/whoever requires they need to hire guys that want to live in our bases and make a reasonable wage. How about some open house interviews in our bases like we used to have at ALG? Instead of hiring the college guys (no offense to them, they leave ASAP and I don't blame them!) because they will make it through AQP quickly, slow down the training to suit the guys that suit this company. Spend a little more on training with another week or whatever it takes, and ultimately spend a whole lot less when that trainee doesn't quit in 6 months to a year. Why not hand out bonuses to guys for staying? Instead of spending 25,000 on training a new pilot to replace you, we'll give you 5,000 if you agree to stay another year. Sure it costs money, but less than this continuous training to replace resignations. None of this will happen because it requires a complete change in management style, a proactive approach to the problem, and that's not what PDT does.

Lear24 I agree with you, but then the pilots would be in control not management. That will never happen.

Their managers aren't very nice people, I've
told lots of guys to avoid them.

Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling.

Hahahahhaahahahahahahah.................................oh................man.......... ok..............um..................he he..................whew...............sniff......he he..........hahahahahahahaha................. bastard filling ............oh man.......whew.

Oh God..............I'm dyin' here.............

I have never had a problem with them.[/quote]
Okay, some of them are nice, but the longer
you are there, the more you are seen as a liability.

Ok....just looking at the title of this thread.............shortgage? he he.....does that mean they have small guage..............oh never mind. :)

Why is it not surprising you're talking about that kind of stuff. You seem to have lots of knowledge on man gauge....

Just finished CQ yesterday and heard that they are talking about starting a program that gives you $250(I think) for every person you recommend that gets hired and another $250 if they finish training.
