NWA management is predicting at the current rate of attrition 9E may be out of business by the end of this year. Time to call HR and tell them you'll work for no less than $100K, see how desperate they really are.

A couple of F/O's in MSP where talking about how the company has canceled some flights from their March schedule a couple of weeks in advance because of lack of captain coverage.

I had heard an average of 30 flights a day canceled due to crew shortages. I think that's almost 5%?

Its about 2%. The problem is that NWA unloaded 15 CRJ's on us overnight and expected us to just absorb them without a hiccup. Attrition is a problem now but it wouldn't have been if our flying had remained static.

I just met a new hire FO the other day that had about 400 TT with 20 ME. I don't even think this person will even be able to upgrade for about 3 years. That may create problems down the line if this is a trend.

Hi!

Are their significant numbers of "Pinnicleees" leaving for TSA, Mesa, or any of the 19-seat prop operators?

No. The people I have been hearing are leaving for CO, Fed Ex, UPS, Southwest, Fractionals, Delta(I don't know if that class is still going, a couple of random cargo ops and some foriegn airlines. That has been in the last two months.

I heard the dropped the "English as a primary language" requirement.

Yea but they kept the ATP written completed part...wtf? I was at the AirInc thing and Pinnicle would not even take my resume (947tt/157multi) without a atp written....But I think they were trying to get all the brouthas though!!!

Meltdown?

Scheduling has already dropped 3 days worth of flying in March and canceled one of my high speeds due the captain shortage. I'm losing like 8 hrs pay. I think this company is on the verge of another "Christmas like" meltdown. March, April, May and June will be very interesting.

In a phrase..."You reap what you sow". This is what Pinnacle gets for it's low-balling tactics, and lack of respect for not only their employees, but that pilot profession in general. I am personally embarassed to be even the slightest bit associated with them as a pilot at "Brand-X" (Colgan). I certainly hope that their travelling circus of auditors visiting Colgan stations aren't offended by thr cool reception they'll recieve from some Colgan pilots.

So you don't have pay protection once schedules are out?

I was invited to interview at Pinnacle last month. I am 63 and I never applied. Are they sending invites to everyone with an ATP?

On the commute home the other day - after waiting 3 hours for a "crew" - heard from the crew they were loosing 45 captains a month. Crew told me they lose more captains then they are able to upgrade. Newhire FO's come in with wet ink on their commerical multi's.

Glad I was on OT!

Not true. Not even half that.

All you need is a pulse.....and an ATP written.

3 years ago no regional would even talk to anyone with less than 3000 hours and 121 experience.

Funny how things work out. Wonder what will come of the majors once all the furloughs are called?

They called me at 10 pm on SATURDAY night offering an interview. I told them I would think about it if the pay was a little better for FO's. All I heard was a click of the phone hanging up after that.

Not a joke at all. I was finger blasting my girlfriend on the couch when they called. I answered the call and told them I was a few months away from making $35 plus as a second yr FO flying the same airplane and told them I would consider if they paid the same and offered a quicker upgrade. I was a little tipsy and all I heard after that was the phone being hung up. I got right back to work on the important stuff.
