NWA management is predicting at the current rate of attrition 9E may be out of business by the end of this year. Time to call HR and tell them you'll work for no less than $100K, see how desperate they really are.
 
A couple of F/O's in MSP where talking about how the company has canceled some flights from their March schedule a couple of weeks in advance because of lack of captain coverage.
 
I had heard an average of 30 flights a day canceled due to crew shortages. I think that's almost 5%?


Its about 2%. The problem is that NWA unloaded 15 CRJ's on us overnight and expected us to just absorb them without a hiccup. Attrition is a problem now but it wouldn't have been if our flying had remained static.
 
I just met a new hire FO the other day that had about 400 TT with 20 ME. I don't even think this person will even be able to upgrade for about 3 years. That may create problems down the line if this is a trend.
