Melit,

Do tell?

701EV

It looks like you're getting a huge chunk of the Comair flying and their airplanes. Way to go!

How is that different than SkyWest pilots flying ASA aircraft and SKYW, Inc. diverting ASA orders to SkyWest? Oh wait, it isn't.

The pilots have no control over what happens and no legal recourse to refuse the flying. This is all management's decision, and they're playing us all off of each other nicely.

And something tells me that Comair pilots aren't going anywhere, at least not involuntarily...

Comair has 0 on furlough...are you saying they are about to start furloughing? Seems odd since they are hiring, and even having trouble filling those classes

ASA Pilots will do what? There are fewer and fewer of them every day and several hundred less than a few years ago when I upgraded. Everyone I know at ASA is trying to leave. Today I walked by the CPO and one of the secretaries asked me to escort the new hires (FedEx, UPS and AirTran) back up to the Concourse. Of course I made sure I had their phone numbers and e-mail's while congratulating them.

In contrast, a freight pilot in a worn torn Cessna 210 pulled up next to my personal airplane on the ramp and we got to talking. I told him ASA was hiring and he laughed at me, then said no thanks.

Comair's contract puts 40% of the new awards with them and Delta has every reason to INCREASE Comair's value since Comair is an asset and Delta has been making promises to everyone about it being worth more than US Air offered. Delta needs a healthy Comair on its balance sheet and Comair's rates are less for large small jet flying.

If ASA gets anything beyond what is the minimum requirement to remain in compliance with the terms of the agreement Delta made when they sold ASA, I would be surprised.

And for FACT: Comair's 12 700's were the direct result of Delta being out of compliance with that sale agreement. Those were not RFP aircraft. Look at all the Freedom and Shuttle America in ATL and that is the source of Comair's aircraft reallocation - Delta gave from the only source it could that was not encumbered by a conflicting contract. In the future, Comair should benefit.

and tell me, at what other airline are pilots and management happy about other airlines getting their flying? Our President says Delta made a better choice with whoever is taking the LA flying.... W T F :0 ASA can't manage to staff the airline, so now they are happy that it is shrinking?

ASA is no threat to anyone but ourselves. If we lost all of our flying and fired all of our pilots Management would be happy - it would truly be a perfect day at the airline with the vision of being the best, most trusted and respected, subsidary of a holding company's low cost alter - ego crew leasing company in the industry.

Who's gonna fly them? We can't staff the crap we have ourselves. We might could hire enough for some new(transfered aircraft) if we could settle the contract...but I don't see that getting done anytime soon...say the next 5 years.......

Yeah, huge chunk! Right... OO takes four of our planes and we get eight from Comair while OO gets the other four? ASA= net four planes SW = net eight planes Who's taking the huge chunk of flying? MELIT, you are certifiable as a flame baiter and idiot.

And Fin, where the hell do you get off being reasonable on this board of rumor, innuendo and name calling. I am ashamed to be employed by the company as you!

Fin I totally agree, and there are going to be a lot more leaving. We are not dumb. This place's days are numbered.

You forgot the 5 700s that were ASA orders that were delivered to SkyWest right after the sale (from the 2003 DAL RFP). Also, the 900s were conversions of the orders and options left over from the RFP that were never delivered to ASA.

Also, ships 698 and 699 are leaving the ASA fleet to be transfered to SkyWest to start the Midwest operation.

I stand corrected. However, I refuse to retract the later statement. MELIT is a dddddddoooooooouuuuuuuucccccccchhhhhhhhhheeeeeeee-bag.

698 and 699 belonged to SkyWest before they flew for ASA. All this ******************** technically belongs to SkyWest Inc, no?

Well, they were ACA before that....

How about they are paid for by Delta - nothing else matters, all the rest of us just transfer in and out at the whim of management. Flavor of the day style.

Agreed...that is totally unfair to ******************************bags.

I think the biggest difference between the bag and MELIT is that the bag actually gets some (insert your favorite term for a woman's reproductive organ here so I don't get banned) every once in a while.

Everyone is leaving. They cannot staff this airline. We cannot train people fast enough to operate our current schedule. The number that I saw showed us with 1620 hrs of 200 left seat time that could not be filled by anyone, and it is getting worse. I think the count for Feb is at least 30 if not more. March will be at least that.
On a positive note, if we are still around upgrade will be down to less than 2 years shortly.

I don't know why you all hate management when they are so predictable. Who thought LAX would be open for more than a year? If you raised your hand you are the fool.

Watch they will open CVG soon. Guess what, that one will also close shortly.

We will not get any 900's. If you are an FO attrition is your only hope. If you are a senior Captain you are just flat out screwed.

I for one am happy. ASA was driving me nuts. I slept through a lot of buisness classes but I know having an airline that doesn't run on time, cancels flights, losses bags, and consistenly makes the USA todays worst of the worst articles should be out of buisness. The fact that ASA makes money makes me lose faith in capitalism.

Hey Fins,

Does DAL own your equipment and lease it to you or does SKYW own the equipment and lease it to ASA?

What about SKYW itself? Does DAL own the equipment and lease it to SKY (for the DCI stuff) or did SKYW acquire the leases?
