It is too cold to be walking outside to an airplane. How long will United make people do this?

Well, when I was using the F-gates in the late 90's, it wasn't unusual for people to trip all fall down the stairs to the ramp. All of the deicing fluid would coat the stairs and then.....whoops. I don't believe they will do anything about people walking outside since they don't care about people falling down very steep and slick stairs.

Good lord...I made the F gate walk the other morning at 0545L and am fairly certain my nose hairs were frozen and breaking off...

I shouldn't gripe...I've been needing to trim them anyway.

I've heard that they're waiting for US/AWA to take over UA, and then Air Wisconsin will loan them another $50 million to enclose the F GAtes.

F1C has got to be the worst walk.

Tear em down and start over. Unfortunately, that will never happen, because there would be no place to put the bazillion planes that park there. The passenger waiting areas are WAY too small too.

United is waiting for the Global Warming to heat things up.

Also, United doesnt care about the passenger. They can make them freeze at the F gates. They can have them sit in the penalty box. The pax will miss their connection, and United DOESNT care. The pax WILL return for those FF miles.

Who cares its really not that hard to walk to an airplane, have we really become that lazy as a society? I agree the slipping on de-ice fluid needs to be worked on but for christ sakes we are already a lazy society. How hard is it really to walk to an airplane. The de-ice fluid issue needs to be dealt with but other than that most of the year it is not winter time, quit being lazy and walk, it helps with obesity.
