Hey Capt Megadeath, this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but, you didn't used to (perhaps still do) teach the panel on the 727 at FedEx did you?

No, she flies for UPS, been there coming up a year now I think.

Most of the female pilots I know fit into this "niche". More interested in career and enjoying life than having kids.

However, I also have known several female pilots who have had kids and they wouldn't have it any other way. They bid day trips or CDO's and are home every night almost without fail. They make it happen.

Stressful? Yep. Difficult? Yeppers.

Worth it?

You bet your sweet little a*s. :D

No disrespect intended. ;)

Dude, my mom got pregnant with me on accident and she has mentioned more than once that she wonders what her life would have been like if she didn't have me. I know she loves me but I can sympathize with her. Her life would have probably been a lot easier. Just because I don't want to sacrifice my entire being for a bunch of whining crying wallet draining $hit machines (as my buddy affectionately calls them) and "just be a mom" doesn't mean I don't appreciate what my mom has done for me.....so don't sit here and lecture me about my own mother. My mom's the best and she knows I think so so STFU!

I just shot beer out my nose!

Airtran is now my favorite new airline. Kudos to the crew!

Idiot parents....if you can't control your little screaming ankle biter(s), do the other 150 passengers onboard a favor....get the he!! off the plane. Thank you for your cooperation.

No, why? Is there another woman out there that doesn't just want to be a baby machine? Teee heee

I'm fairly certain there are a few of those. I highly doubt they out number the number of my wife's and my female friends who are freaking out now that they are getting past the baby-range years and don't yet have one. (Our male friends don't really worry about that because there isn't the same biological-clock-thing happening. Pregnancy tends to be much more forgiving on the male body. Ain't fair, but I didn't make the rules.) They do have very nice homes and cars, but I get the distinct feeling there may be more to life than just aquiring more stuff (if not, I'm hosed). The reason I was asking was because your tone sounded exactly like someone I met a year or two ago through some friends. No malice intended, just curious, and if you were her I wanted to see how you were doing. Good luck with the baby thing. Which ever road you choose there will be critics (again, I didn't make the rules. Sucks, but it's true.)

Hmmm. Cite an example of something more womanly than being a mother. I can't believe I just asked that question on FI...

Now, there isn't a thing in the world with being a mom. I appreciate them all to hell, but when a woman ceases being a woman and becomes one of those people who disregards the world around them because "they are a mom, godammit"....well that was the point.

I applaud the crew for making the little $hit and her family spend an extra night in sunny florida. Aside from the safety issue on the flight, it should once again be standard practice in America for kids to behave in public and expect discipline when they do not. What is wrong with taking your children home or away from others when they are acting inappropriatly? Also, why should an inability to control your little devils become the problem of 100 other people?

Does yer mom know what a potty mouth ya got?

We are long past the time when people HAD to have kids to keep the farm running. There is NO reason to have kids nowadays other than personal reasons. Some may even say selfish reasons.

I seriously cant think of one reason someone NEEDS to have children.

Therefore, no one has a right to inconvenience others in any way shape or form by their CHOICE to have children. Just like I may want to have a 4000 watt stereo in my car, but playing it loudly in certain areas is illegal. You need a 4000 watt stereo just as much as you NEED children.
