I'm no authority on the subject, but friends at FedEx said their contract would have to be renegotiated before the over 60 guys could return to the left seat, even if the law did change.maybe, maybe not. This has never come up so it has never been tested. But, you can bet at least one of those over 60 FEs will file a lawsuit to get his Captain seat back.
.
Just because you have a 5am show on the RJ, doesn't mean I have a 5am show on an RJ..............
.
Why do all mesa pricks act like they're in 5th grade?
All of our guys that took early retirement cannot come back
Yeah, if Age 65 does happen, movement at Fedex and UPS will actually go backwards, since there are plenty of over age 60 guys on the FE panel. If they kept their seniority, they will bid BACK to Captain, and FOs would move back to FE probably. Ouch. No FE slots at DL.
Bye Bye--General Lee
unfortunately I bit on it and the moderator took my post off. Lets just say that the general is still an idiot after 8138 posts and he is freaking clueless. Yeah.... I know.... its just not worth it anymore with this retard...... good luck to the guys that want to go to delta. Word of advice.... have plan b and c ready to execute, cause you won't be gettin any brotherly love at delta.

take a look at 3rd year FE rates at UPS vs your precious 8 year FO rates......have fun as a USAir pilot......

Huh? Is it not possible if age 65 actually happens? It is for UPS and Fedex, since they still have FEs. IF they just retired (age 60) and moved to the FE seat (like our ROPES did at DL), and they allow over age 60 pilots, why couldn't they bid back? That would atleast cause major stagnation. We don't have that problem, since we don't have FEs anymore.
And you know what? You are the retard Netwok sling. You were seniority challenged, like many at DL, when you were furloughed. Our Furloughs got Cobra, got credit for years of service when they were out (United didn't), and are almost all back now. You enjoy Brown, and never look back, because the way you act now---we don't want you back. We will do just fine without you, and all newhires are welcome. It may be a bumpy couple of months, but we will come out just fine. But, you always know better. Bye now.

Give the General a bone guys - he has identified the one problem on earth that Delta doesn't have right now.

Wow.... where do you come up with these great zingers.... you showed me.
As for the stagnation remark? 53 MD-11s total, 40 747-400, 40 767-200 and who the heck knows about the Airbus 380 or its replacement. Whats your upgrade time now at delta? 15 to 17 years..... hello pot... meet kettle....
Bobby,
Im glad that I could be of service and keep your expectations at the same level for Flightinfo.
Jon,
Until you know the facts and the history here I suggest you have a nice cup of STFU and enjoy the show.....feel free to put me on your ignore list or just move along. You're not gonna hurt my feelings......
Let's hope you NEVER have to go through this too. Don't get Kocky.
Bye Bye--General Lee
You're right. My TWA experience was nothing compared to what you're going through. I hope I never have to go through anything as bad as the Delta situation.

Did the Delta MEC show ANY support to the TWA guys during the AA purchase/staple?

Delta this is TWA, request help, over.
Negative Ghostrider, OUR wallet is full. Delta out.
Could they reapply? Start off as First Officers again? Wouldn't that be something?
It looks like the TWA pilots amended their scope and successorship language to "ensure a quick closing" for an acquisition they strongly supported.
So what exactly did they ask the DAL pilots to do for them after they amended their successorship language to ensure that quick closing of their acquisition?

T.W.A. Pilots Reach Accord With AMR
Trans World Airlines Inc. said today that its pilots reached agreements with T.W.A. Airlines L.L.C., the unit of the AMR Corporation's American Airlines that will operate as T.W.A.'s successor.
The agreements included amendments to provisions of the pilots' collective bargaining agreement pertaining to scope, benefits and successorship, said T.W.A. pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Association International union.
The head of the T.W.A. pilots' union, Capt. Robert A. Pastore, in a letter to the chairman and chief executive of American Airlines, Donald J. Carty, said the pilots wanted ''to ensure a prompt closing'' of the acquisition of T.W.A., which they strongly support.'' Captain Pastore said the pilots ''expect issues related to the integration of our pilots into the American system will be fairly resolved with our participation.''
  :laugh:Weirder things have happened. Like the retired Delta pilot that is ging through new hire training to become a first officer at Comair right now!
