I thought I would start another thread on this one.

Tomorrow, Pinnacle will announce that they have purchased Colgan. A large number of Pinnacle employees were told this today.

No word on any management changes or how much is being paid.

You guys are gonna just love Trenary and his band of merry men. Trenary looks great and talks a very nice, warm fuzzy game. Beware!

I find this very hard to believe, but if it did come true, if I were at colgan, I would run far away. You are being bought by a management team that is not even responsible enough to get their own pilots contract done because they are to busy trying to get other flying certificates.

the only Fuk#$# thing our managment has been trying to do is get a second certificate that we would not be able to fly for. They have been trying to sugar coat it with "oh, you guys will get all new northwest flying", well guess what, there is none of that becuase those 15 crj's aren't even gauranteed to stay here.

Now that we won't let them out of our scope clause that protects us, they probably will try to buy another airline.

Question for PCL 128 if you read this - If we bought another airline, does this go around our scope clause that all flying must be done by pinnacle pilots?

I'm not PCL, (obviously) but I'll take a stab. No scope issues, just the respective groups get to indulge themselves in the moderate to severe pleasure of integrating the lists.

The scope is VERY clear. Any flying done under the Express 1/Pinnacle Airlines brand is to be done by the current seniority list. It won't matter at all if we by another airline. If PCL management tried an end run with buying another airline and getting around our scope, I believe they would find themselves in Federal court pretty quickly. Should be interesting.

If the rumor is true, I would look forward to welcoming the Colgan pilots. More voices for a better contract!

yep...

it's true

been brewing for about 6 or more weeks...

10 am tomorrow the announcement will be made by Uncle Phil via webcast and in all three domiciles.

Well well well... Maybe Colgan will get jets!!

If true, I don't know if this is good or bad. I'm surprised though that the Senator would sell. His kids will have to get real jobs now and frankly, outside of 1 college educated lady, they aren't qualified for much.

what the hell are we buying them for? What good does it do? Opinions?

Pinnacle needs turboprops to feed the long-haul RJ route structure.....Just like NWA used to need RJ's to feed the 747 long-haul international route structure. It's makes perfect business sense. (Sarcasm over)

Done deal....If the kids are not that good, they are probably figuring out that getting bigger is over their heads. In most deals with family companies the blood hand around for a year with employment contracts, just long enough for the purchasing suits to get in and find out what is what, then in about a year....cya.

More than likely a trusted Pinchnickel lieutenant will go over to start getting a handle on the operation and quickly figure out how to knife the employees to increase the profits.

I've seen these guys at work close hand.

They were qualified enough to build two airlines up and sell them both for a hell of a lot more then invested at the start. Cant find many families that have done this in our industry. I'm sure the Senator and Mike are laughing all the way to the bank.

are you FUCCING KIDDING ME? WE ARE BEING SOLD. GOD DAN IT. WELL HEY MAYBE OUR SCREW SCHEDULERS CANT F US ANYLONGER! Are their going to be furlows? displacement?

I will be the first to say if this is true NO BODY BITCH ABOUT WHO TOOK WHOS FLYING. We are all in it together if it happens to be true.

Although the contract end-around sounds fishy to me, as long as we (Colganinnicle) keep the ALB base... I'm stickin' around.

the lieutenant has already been decided... the former CEC director I am hearing... I wish DW would go to, but I doubt that would ever happen. Although he has more time in a Saab then in the CRJ.:)

integration of SOC by the summertime... SOC will be MEM based is the other rumor.

Oh well, I guess Pinnacle isn't buying Regions.. :)

ALPA legal (and this MEC, of course) are of the opinion that our current scope language protects us in this sort of situation. All flying done by any Pinnacle Holdings airline is to be done by ALPA pilots on the Pinnacle Airlines seniority list under our CBA. Period. I suspect that Phil might try to force the issue, and if he does, then he'll find himself and his lawyers in court very quickly over a Section 1 (scope) grievance. Under the RLA, Section 1 grievances are expedited and don't go through the long process of a typical grievance. The issue would be resolved relatively quickly. I'm confident that ALPA would be successful.

If it did happen, and the colgan pilots got put at the bottom of the list, pcl would be lookin for 300 new saab pilots real quick

yeah, right! where would they go? looks like a lot of FO's just do the regional biatch shuffle nowadays. the heck with a seniority number!

Per the PCL agreement all mergers between the "Association" and nonaffiliated pilot groups will be in accordance with the precedence of the Allegheney-Mohawk merger.

They are getting screwed if that is the case. Look at Shuttle/CHQ integration. The shuttle guys got hosed! Allegheny-Mohawk is not the greatest way to integrate!

If this is true... A screwin is a comin!

How was that integration done? Or is this going to be a ChatauquaShuttlePublic deal? (if this is actually true... I'll believe it when I'm in ops tommorrow and see the announcement, haha)
