Too bad all of the furloughees from other carriers didn't show up to the meeting this morning in their old uniforms. There will be a significant increase in the number of pilots taking the recall, now. However, they'll still be around long enough for the vote.

Projecting $200mil in profits for 2007 - which is why the pay and benefits is a growing issue after a year of crying about returning to profitability.

Base rate is effective to 70 hours..
Even RESERVES are guaranteed more.

Of the 61 LGB 320 Capt. lines for Jan., only 13 have 83 hours or more. (This morning, Dave Barger said 83 hours is what they base the "Blended Rate" on.) That's only 21%.
Bos Capt. 9 out of 32 = 28%.
FLL Capt. 23 out of 82 = 28%
JFK Capt. 47 out of 473 = 9%
JFK 190 Capt. 5 out 0f 150 = 3%
BOS 190 Capt 7 out of 27 = 26%

Get my point?

You guys treat this airline as if its been around 70 years. We're still an infant trying to find a way to success. If it takes a few years to do it, why not support it-- I'm not starving right now. At least the company found a way to bring up the 190 F/O pay, even though we're not even in the black this year. What other airline in the red is handing out pay raises, ummm, NONE... It is much easier to ask for money back ala US Airways, Delta, Northwest, UAL. It is much harder to give money out and this company does try to "do the right thing". If there are those here on board who don't like it, then, the door is open-- LEAVE, and then, maybe then, when enough pilots cross the threshold, we just might see some more in terms compensation and benefits...

My guess is that Bob Neal (recall coordinator at United) will soon be getting a bunch of calls from UAL furloughees currently at JB.

It depends. And just because you get more than 70 hrs does not mean that you get premium pay.

It's impossible to come with an all-encompassing blended rate because the line values vary so much. Premium pay is a month by month productivity bonus, no more. And one that isn't available to all pilots on a consistent basis.

I am betting that you will see JetBlue pilots leave to return to USAirways when their number is up too. I know a few guys who have turned down JetBlue offers to stay at Netjets and World as well.

Let's hope it gets better for you guys because you certainly work hard enough... And, $80-90K as PIC on the E190 won't go far in NY.
