Why? IT should go by earnings.. A 3rd yr guy at AirTran made a lot more money than a 3rd year AA..
Yeah, like it would go down that way. However it would turn out, I'm sure it would be FAIR & EQUITABLE!

That's easy--there are no 3rd year pilots at AA.
Most of the furlough have 8-12 years.no kidding. I'm a (nearly) 7 year AA pilot and I am about as junior as they come.
Avro--Try getting laid off less than a year after you had been a MD80 Capt. making 160k.
Flying is great. The flying business sucks. Putting in 15 years at TWA was no picnic--constantly looking over your shoulder, waiting for the banks to pull the plug, working for chief pilots who, after 20 years still barely had 2,000 hours of flight time with the company.
But, once I knew I was getting laid off, I came to the realization that flying is what I do. It's what I am. I can't separate "me" from "pilot". There is no "getting out of the business". But that's just me. This is all I've ever wanted to do--literally since I knew what an airplane was.
There will be no Jiffy Lube or Dairy Queen franchise in my future. Hope you find something that makes you happy. TC

I guess payroll must have made a mistake paying me 9 year pay. Cool! The furloughs range from 2-14-00 through 9/11/01.
Chickens**t. Could you try to put a larger flame on your bait next time?

Hi!
Airtran is looking at buying Midwest Airlines. They already did the code share thing with Frontier.

Satpak--I am married but send me a pic--I'm always on the lookout for new talent.
I guess you mean how did I survive the paycut? I got called to fly the airplane in my avatar the day I got laid off. No family money and my wife is a bank teller.
We had very high limits on our credit cards. TC
CSY--Do you have a lot of people ahead of you for recall? They are running through them pretty quickly.
As of today (per APA) they have 9 for the Jan. 3 class with 5 undecideds and 6 who have bypassed but not returned the letter. They are through 79 so far (including the FIS).
This comes from someone who called APA. I've heard that they've gone through more than 79.
If they stick to 10/month I've at least got 125 flowbies ahead of me so that's a year's worth of recalls to get to me. Looks like I'll be spending Christmas '07 at home...TC
