I did mine YTD how about you?

dang you got me beat. Not to shabby though for never looking at it. :)

I think those rates are very good...is that investment performance? or is it the value of the account in november 06 less the value of the account in December of 05? (If it is the latter, it would be including any money YOU put in and counting it as performance...) If it was investment performance could you say what kinds of investments you used? Thanks for any info...

Your Personal Rate of Return is calculated with a time-weighted formula, widely used by financial analysts to calculate investment earnings. It reflects the results of your investment selections as well as any activity in the plan account(s) shown. There are other Personal Rate of Return formulas used that may yield different results. Remember that past performance is no guarantee of future results.

(does activity in the plan accounts shown) mean what i've added? I did the math based on the change in market value and my rough percentage is right.

Anybody doing better than

Since beginning of year
Your Personal Rate of Return This Period17.6%

Besides GVFlyer.... Cause I know he gets Insider Trading info... LOL

I didn't do nearly that well in my 401K. I don't take much risk there - half of it is in bonds, the rest is evenly divided among Large Cap, Mid Cap and Small Cap index funds.

I accept moderate risk in my brokerage account, which I load towards high dividend paying blue chips for the tax advantages, but this year I didn't do 17.6% there either, even if I factor in the dividends.

Congratulations!

Gun,

Im only at 11.6. What funds are you mainly in?

I'm in about 8. Mainly low price stock, Natural Resources, and Canada.

I check and revise mine at towards the end of every year. I research the Fidelity page that show a history of their funds over the years. I use my own weighted system (5 to 1) that assigns the highest number to the most productive funds in the last year to a lower number for performance 5 years ago. I add up the numbers for each and that's how I make my choices. I hope this makes sense. 2005 was a good year for me as I'm sure it was for many of you. I think I was around 27% last year.

All FID funds...
Value, Diversified Intl, Latin America, Templeton Dev Mkts A, Real Estate Invs, Sel Natural Res, and Freedom 2030.

Hope this helps

How manny fund selections do you guys have in your plan. Are you also allowed to buy stock or is it simply a fidelity run show as it is at my company?

I got out of realestate funds this year. I went hard on emerging markets and asia for a variety of reasons. I keep about 30 percent in blue chip.

4 funds max.

I believe he was asking the number of funds that we have to choose from not how many were in our individual accounts. Its in the neighboorhood of 50 something choices I think. But just in case I read this wrong - I hold 3 funds in my 401k. There is an option for a self directed management I believe but as I understand it, it is quite expensive and you are better off just opening an e-trade account and doing it on the side. Good luck!

As of today

5 funds. Rebalanced yearly.

16.1% YTD

Div Intl
Low PR Stk
Real Estate Invs
Equity Income
Strategic Income

The Real Estate fund (unless I am misinformed) includes all Real Estate, new and existing home sales, apartment stuff, leasing, and other stuff. So even if the housing market isn't doing well, the fund may still be doing good. And checking now, that fund has had a YTD return of 32.25% as of the close of business yesterday. I might hang on to this one a little while longer.

Good luck!

I dumped about 1/2 of mine into the Latin America Fund as well last year, it has been great, haven't looked at my Personal Return lately, was around 16% a month or so ago.

Hey wolf we get the higher percentage because we don't have to give half of it to the ex wife. :)
