Doesnt that violate insider trading rules. I may be wrong but telling a new-hire class what "may" happen is different than a line pilot, or FA. This guy is a manager. Thoughts

D

Insider trading would be taking market action based on information that is not available to the public, but is available to you because of your job or connections.

Telling people the information is not insider trading.

To lessen the negative impact from the ASA pilots of a Skywest Atlanta base, Skywest, Inc. will announce an ASA Denver base. Skywest plans on putting a dozen 900 in Atlanta soon. Also Skywest, Inc is on the record as saying that if the ASA strike, they will be "parted" out. (their words, whatever that means.)

 You say this so proudly! Fact is, we can't wait to see ya'll come to town and FEEL the PAIN of ATL!!! Come on down, it will be AWESOME!!!

Skywest has had this problem before with flying for Delta and United in the same cities and have worked them out. There are so many routes being flown now that overlap. It's just there is a limit to it and Skywest expects to get the L.A. flying sometime late next year when those talks are revisited next June. Skywest has been pretty good at getting what they want from both United and Delta.

 Yeah, UA is going to just magically waive their wonds and give it to you...what a load of CRAP!! By the way, you know that we will be flying about 80-100 flights a day out of SLC by April.....right!;) See ya there!

Had an Island air guy jumpseat the other day and he said they were getting the Q-400 flying for Frontier. I guess Island Air is piecing most of its flying out of Hawaii after Mesa moved in. They can't really compete and want to diversify their flying.

I don't know who the Island Air guy was, but apparently he has more information then the rest of the pilot group. All we know is that we will be flying Q400's somewhere West of the Mississippi and that was a quote from our CEO. The only article outside of this was in a Hawaii News article stating that we were going to fly out of Vegas. I personally doubt that we will be based in Vegas.

Just so everyone knows, I am in the new hire class at ASA... and Scott Hall hasnt talked to us. Not once. This thread is bogus.

It'll never happen....50-seaters can't climb over the mountains, and'll run out of gas before they leave the state of Colorado....

So where are they going to base you? which airplane? LAX maybe?

And how about the others in the class?

Let us know when they give you a green vest and tell you it's the new ASA uniform.

Hope you have a good sense of humor....it's a must for maintaining some sort of sanity at this company.

Dive of an airline? This must be your first airline and you probably came here right out of college.

No I didn't do PFT, was not an intern, it's not my first airline but I didn't give thousands of hours of dual, am I worthy? We all have a seniority number, you get it on the first day. The low time guys and high time ones are all on equal footing......even if you are old and bitter.

There are 18 of us. 16 LAX 200 guys (and gals) and 2 ATR guys staying here. They are telling us they are planning on one class of 18 monthly until February or so. But apparently they are having a hard time filling them.

Not filling classes??

Jackjj:
Is this due to their 1200tt and 200 multi requirements?
Like I said in another thread, I think pilots with those quals. will go to Skywest if they know they are heading west anyway.

I'm already in LA so I'll be applying in the next few days just to see if I get a bite with my low times 750/110.

Are many of your classmates going to go back to ATL when the chance arrives?

I'm suprised that % of the class is headed west- I just finished up a four day and heard them cancel three flights due to no first officers here in Atlanta. One of the airplanes was already boarded up when the captain called in to querry operations. I bet there were some pi$$ed off folks on that one. When is this gonna end????
