Hmmm, Scott Hall told the new hire class this week that there is a very good chance that ASA will have a DEN base by summers end. He mentioned that there is flying there for SKW Inc, but SKW cant do it because of United.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but the flying is going back to the A318s'.
You'll just have to go sniff up the end of some other carrier.
 
To lessen the negative impact from the ASA pilots of a Skywest Atlanta base, Skywest, Inc. will announce an ASA Denver base. Skywest plans on putting a dozen 900 in Atlanta soon. Also Skywest, Inc is on the record as saying that if the ASA strike, they will be "parted" out. (their words, whatever that means.)
 
If this rumor is true it would be great for ASA. It's about time that we got some good news around here...
 
Maybe I'm cynical, but I fully expect the news of a Denver base to be followed by another memo stating that more of our 700s will be transferred to SkyWest. I just don't see much good news happening while our contract is still open.
 
This whole thread may be moot as no formal announcement has been made, but it depends on what type of a/c the bid was for and how many. SKW cannot do the flying out of DEN due to the agreement w/ UAL.
 
Skywest has had this problem before with flying for Delta and United in the same cities and have worked them out. There are so many routes being flown now that overlap. It's just there is a limit to it and Skywest expects to get the L.A. flying sometime late next year when those talks are revisited next June. Skywest has been pretty good at getting what they want from both United and Delta.

Jerry made no bones about our purchase price immediately following our sale. He made it a clear point that he paid the price that was equal in asset value for ASA. I have no doubt he could part us out and get his 425 million back with no harm to Skywest. I fear we are a disposable assett.

I'm not so sure that UAL and DL will be as accomodating as they were in the past. With all the majors still looking for ways to stretch a nickle and looking for ways to have the regional vendors foot more of the bill SKW Inc will be very carefull what they ask for.

BTW, If we get a deal done some time in the near future, it wouldn't make sense to boot ASA from LAX and recreate more labor strife.
