Pros:
Ergonomic
Modular Construction makes for higher dispatchability
Great Autopilot, keeps up great with the FD(see cons)
Better passenger comfort than the CRJ(well, once they sit down at least)
Good motors(now at least, i heard there were problems with the RR/Alisons at first)
Trailing link landing gear.
More room in flight deck than CRJ, but does get intimate with a JS'er
Ram's horn yoke(never thought i'd like it, i never want to go back)
Pretty over-engineered for a barbie jet, example: engine driven hydralic pump causing overheating problem of some sort in the ERJ you hit a button to "disconnect" the engine driven pump, in the CRJ you shut the motor down.
Lots of places to stash porn.

CONS:
Finicky electrical system, just has quirks
Flight Director: The Honeywell Shuffle, clearing turns, tracking abilities, autopilot induced severe turbulence in the 135
Flightdeck seats, my ass falls asleep within 30 min of sitting in one
The sometimes forgotton mysterious trim runaways that have been claimed to have been fixed
Stiff wing for a stiff ride

Better than the CRJ 200, personally I like it, but can only compare it to CRJ. The XR is pretty sweet and the 135 LR is fun when not maxed out.
2 cents

My company thinks it is safe enough for 300 hour new-hires so it must be simple.......lol

Nobody mentions the greatest 145 benefit: the big crew closet. For a small airplane the crew gets lots of space to stash your bags.

Flight Director: The Honeywell Shuffle, clearing turns, tracking abilities

What the heck you talking about?!?!?! Those qualities are for MISSLE AVOIDANCE!!!!

I'd kill for those nice big closets now. Half the CRJ's I fly don't even have hat racks let alone someplace for my bag.

Easy to fly, fairly roomy cockpit, FADEC, huge coat closet for crew bags, love the yoke, smart plane.

cockpit seats are horrible, must wear headset, low ceiling in cabin, FD
