Don't listen to some our malcontents here at ASA. They are all bark and no bite. The Skywest pilots will be welcome here as are the Freedom/CHQ/ShuttleAmerica/CMR pilots. It isn't the pilots fault that we are being used in a big game between management and ALPA.
Welcome to ATL.

Seems that some people have forgotten that Skywest pilots have zero to do with the ATL flying, but all of Delta. If your p*ssed off about Skywest coming to ATL, give your buddies at Delta a call and let them know how you feel.

A big thank you to the ASA guys posting and showing your class and welcoming Skywest to ATL.

All I would like for Skywest Pilots to do is report how the ATL operation is to your MGMT. How the ramp is, getting the services, etc.
Just remember ATL works more with less.

900s based in SLC will flow out through ATL. this isn't really news, as Ron Reber indicated months ago that he wouldn't be surprised to see SW planes flow out through the ATL and ASA planes based in ATL to come through SLC.

Show them your -700 paycheck and let them how much money we really make.

This is a golden opporunity to show the Skywest pilots how isolated Jerry has made them.

He may be making the mistake of his career by sending them to ATL.

Communism fell because word got out to the oppressed people that the rest of the world really was better. Jerry's communist empire is due to fall when his people see how the rest of the world does it.

are you saying that ya'll make more or less than us? except for your IPs, our pilots make more (I'm told by your own guys). did Jerry make a mistake when he sent us to the daily Chinese fire drill that is the F concourse in ORD? when we see how 'good the rest of the world has it' are you thinking we'll see that you have more $, better QOL, better future outlook, etc?

PS to Redneck-I'll fight you, man! anytime! You have shop 7th period, right?! well, ditch class and meet me behind the gym and I'll kick your ass!

Truthfully, we should all welcome the Skywest pilots. Show them that their management lied that ASA sucks because of ALPA, and tell them how much better they would be with a union. Show them how we can tell the chief pilots to screw off when they want us to take an airplane with no APU. Show them your -700 paycheck and let them how much money we really make.

My 200 paycheck is much smaller than theirs. I don't tell the chief pilot to "screw off". If I don't think it is safe to take an airplane, I respectfully assert my captain authority. I will have a hard time telling the Skywest pilots how much better we have it with ALPA. I cannot tell a lie, and they have it better.

I agree with most of the post here.

SkyWest pilots are very much welcome. No hard feelings toward you guys at all. And just remember, if you receive poor service...it is not because you are SkyWest. We all get poor service here in the ATL.

I started this post not to bully SW pilots. However, all of this does make me nervous. I understood the closing of SLC base. Doesn't make sense to have 2 companies in the same city. But how can you explain that it makes to have 2 companies in ATL????

If SW got the 900's because of their lower rates why are we not getting their 50's? Why did we not keep ASA in SLC to fly the 50's? Plus, everyone knows SW pilots make more money that ASA...surely JA would look at total compensation when comparing rates (if this decision was made solely for financial reasons).

All signs are pointing to no more ASA. I don't think it has anything to do with rates, contracts, unions.

Show them how we can tell the chief pilots to screw off when they want us to take an airplane with no APU.

We've refused an aircraft for less at SkyWest (one pack was down in the summer in California) without having a union and without even bringing the chief pilot into it.

Same reason you guys have a presence in CVG and ORD has numerous UEX carriers. It insulates the major carrier in the event of a work stoppage by one of their regional partners.

Remember, we're not opening a base in ATL in Dec., just have SLC pairings that will flow through.

:cool:Welcome to ATL. You will want to get headed back WEST ASAP!!! Most likely your "ontime" thing will plummet and the "ATL Shroud" will overtake you! Good Luck! Maybe it will show you guys WHY our mgmnt sucks! BL and SH are two of the biggest dirtbags in the game!
Here is a phrase that will help you guys....slow to 250kts when you are 500 miles out, slow to 180kts for a 50 mile final!
Later
