Got a call from chautauqua today for an interview oct. 17 looking for info on bases out of training, first year pay, QOL, and upgrade time, and any other good info. I do beleive they are hiring people into the 170 with 1500/300 seeing if this is true as well. My times are 1800/510. thanks

do a search for QOL...theres a bunch of stuff on this already...as far as pay goes go to airlinepilotcentral.info.....theyre hiring into all three airframes right now (CRJ, 145, 170) regardless of time. As long as you have the 1500 and 300 theyll put you where they need you....There are tons of bases for Chq and only three or four for Shuttle and Republic....good luck

I also have an interview coming up at RAH. I'm probably getting a head of things, but can anyone tell me what the training is like as far as what the company pays for etc?

Paid hotel room and $250 a week for the first month, then your 75 hours/month after that.

1500/300 is firm (for now) for E145, CRJ200 and E170/175. You interview for all 3 certs. You don't get a choice where you go. I would guess most likely CHQ CRJ (IAH and SDF bases) or Republic 170/175 (IND, DCA and PIT bases). Initial training done at Flight Safety in STL. Paid Hotel and when I went through it was only $125/week for first thirty days and then guarantee after that. QOL is comparable to every other regional (Mesa excluded). Upgrade times currently 24-30mos. but that is very fluid and will probably change +- soon.

5ontheglide might be right, might only be 125/week. Don't really recall.

If you get the CRJ class right now, you'll be one of the lucky ones who will enjoy FO seniority until the time you upgrade. Your QOL will be substantially better than mine right away, even though I've been here for over 1.5 years. Good luck.

i went through in Feb. and im 99.9% sure its still 125/week.

I've looked into them also. Why do you say "probably change soon?"
Also, is there not a base in STL or near STL with CHQ?

i think ORD is fairly senior for FO's at S5 but i could be wrong as im at the other end of the operation....the last few new hire classes have been all IND and CMH , i can tell you that much

FOs for CHQ seem to have been going everywhere lately, except for LGA, MCO.

My advice is to get in and get a seniority number. Thats what is going to matter most in the long run. Don't worry too much about what a/c or what company you get put in. They put you where they need you.

FWIW, In my CHQ class, 14/16 had 121 airline experience.

STL is an american base, the worst flight bennies, but the best flying in the 145 system (the only one that is comutable.) It is becoming a senior FO base, but with the movement going on you should be able to get it soon if not right away. Just expect to be on RSV for longer than other bases.

I got a call from RAH on the 21st also. My interview is schedule for the 25th of October. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the interview, and usually how long does it take. Thank you in advance for the responses.

Check out the gouge on aviationinterviews, pretty much spot on. more hr than technical, 25 question written. may or may not have the sim ride depending on you written score and experience.

How long is training? Where are the sims for the 145 and 170? Any down time during training? Do you get you ID on day one or do you have to wait?

While we're asking questions.....

I have a few.....
1) How long is the contract with CO?
2) What is the latest on the DL rebidding? Will you hold on to that flying?
3) How does your nonrev work? Can you only non-rev on the companies you feed or do you have benies on all the companies?
3a)Speaking of benies, how is your medical coverage? dental, etc...
4) How many are you expecting to hire for the new aircraft?
5) Are there classes going on right now or is still a pool?
6) How many aircraft are you getting? It's a strange equation from what I gather...69 from CO minus 20 from US but you are getting 175s... help me out....
7) Are your lines built over guarantee? Can you make more than the minimum?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I have an interview coming up and would like some info to help me make my decision should I be offered a job. Thanks.

ok, my best shot, a mix of fact and speculation

1) 2-5 years(scary huh?)
2) No word, no idea, nobody knows(what is that uneasy feeling?)
3) Non-Rev on the paint that your base serves
3a) Better than some, worse than others.depends on where you live really.
4) i think 540 is the number being thrown around
5) a little bit of both i think, the CRJ classes are going to be kinda irregular at first in their timing, so some may see the pool, others may not.
6) 54 growth aircraft. the CO contract is for 44 planes, 20 of which are coming from CHQ's 145s currently serving USAirways. We are picking up 24 CRJs and 30 E175s for total growth of 54. more if anything positve comes from the delta RFP
7) Line target Mins and Maxs change from month to month in pbs, but usually is see a range from 82-92 (min target-max target), I'm big on reserve at my base, but most people see 82-86 hour lines. Take home in credit is almost always higher.
