Anyone ever consider that maybe 170/190's might come to XJT fo fly for another carrier or for ourselves and the company isnt hinting at it because they dont want competition to stomp on the plans before they even start. Just a thought. The 100 options are easily transfered over to the 170 or 190s Embraer would love nothing more than to never build another 50 seater and would probably give us a hell of a deal on something bigger just so they dont have to get the 145 line up and running again. Again who knows till it happens. In the conference call mgmt mentioned that they feel like we are going to need more airplanes. Things are looking good fellas. Just goes to show you dont have to take paycuts to ensure additional flying.

Just what "additional" flying are you getting?

All sorts of stuff has been hinted at. We've been flying proving runs. (Not going to say where.:D ) My guess? look to see us do a combination of feed, both legacy and start-up, plus stand-alone ops south of the border along with some domestic charter.

We haven't had to go looking for customers, they've been coming to us. I'll make another prediction: Don't look to see any CHQ aircraft on property.

Looks like 1 to 2 classes per month through the end of the year and beyond. That equates to 32-64 newhires per month for the rest of 06 and most likely upgrades to match that.

I think he said 1-2 classes is 16-32 per month...still great news

The word I have heard is that it is not a negotiation for scope, but a negotiation for payrates.
(Read smaller airplanes at CAL flown by full CAL pilots)

To get 70 seat scope out of CAL pilots they would have to give back everything they got in the last concessions and more!!!

All of the regional airline guys who have to bigger airplane boner dont realize that every EMB-170/190 CRJ 700/900 flown at a regional is one less airplane at the majors and less jobs at the majors.

This would be the best news the airline industry has heard in years. Imagine an airline that just does all of it's own flying with one list of pilots! If the CAL pilots got 170's and 190's at mainline, you would see a very competative airline in the domestic US market. Maybe jetBlue is causing these guys to rethink their stupid business plans.

Just remember your good friend Buddy here...."Yup Earl, the future looks pretty bright for us here at ExpressJet." Jump ship now, before the regional Titanic sinks.

stay away from this and other crackpipes...
