For anyone who has received a call from Ms. Dawn Daniel, how much time do you have (TT and multi), what type of flying do you currently do, and when did you get a call vs. when you applied. Thanks
AJL5236

Online app with Peoplescout on 10/19/04. Call from Dawn yesterday. Spoke with her today to find that 16 hours ME in the last year disqualifies me. 1300TT, 219ME, with 16ME in the last 6 mos/year. Currently working as a jump pilot. Hope the numbers help. Good luck.

I'm sorry to here that, thats good that you got a call though, it sure is hard to get the multi-time that we as pilots need on a consistant basis. Good luck to you.

Sorry man that sucks. Did she say what exactly they were looking for as far as recency? Thanks for any info you may have to offer.

Question?????

How many of you guys (cfi's, jump pilots, etc..) are able to fly a twin? The only way I can fly one if I buy the time. And I will never get to fly my campanies twin. It's depressing when I hear something like that. I have 10 multi in the last month Don't know if that's going to help. Well Commutair is hiring now so I guess I'll apply to that next month.

Are they still really strict on the current flying job thing? A CFIbuddy of mine meets all the mins no prob, and really wants to get onwith them but his only job right now is kind offreelance/part-time/as-needed and he hasn't flown much in the last fewmonths due to weather and aircraft being in maintenance. He thinks itwon't be a problem, but it seems like I've heard otherwise.

I am flight instructing full time and have my MEI. I just checked my logbook and i have 163 hours multi in the last 6 months and that is pretty much all MEI time. My flight school allows us 2 hours a month free so that has helped also. I think i paid for maybe 12 hours at dicounted rates through the school.

From the interview today at XJT about 40 people were there with about 10 or so getting hired. Even though 600/100 is posted, their minimums have gone up. Due to FlyI's furloughs, they're taking many of their pilots with higher times....people hired today had anywhere from 1300/600 to 2500/1000 and up....sorry for the bad news :-(

Man oh Man.......................................Just when I thinkI'mgetting a little closer to the hymen breaker of600/100..........Youguys go and raise the bar on Me!!
I'm hoping I could meet with a few ExpressJet recruiters at one ofthese spring career shindigs and things will maybe look a little moremy way.

Any idea on the response time for a FlyI guy. Did the online app two weeks ago, no response. Not to brag becasue flight time can be such a freakin joke, but is 2500 glass/turbine/121, ect. enough or what?

Edited. As Neal said in the other thread, the "furloughed pilot" thing on the website should get you a quicker callback. Hope to see you around soon.

Ok guys, thanks. I got a call this morning so I'm going to put my pacifier in now and stop whining.

Just got a call this afternoon.I did the online app thing about 2 months ago or more,i forgot the exact date. Multi time is over 300 and im currently flying 121. All i can tell everyone that has applied is to be patient,(yeah i know, easier said then done)especially the guys that have less then 1000 TT since your not very competitive with less then 1000 hours.

Anyone interviewing on the 8th or anytime soon? Let me know. Thanks and good luck to all applicants and keep punching away at the logbook and stay current, especially with multi and actual instrument stuff.

Got the call today! Applied Early Nov. Multi is just under 200 and i am currently flight instructing full time. Interview on the 8th also. cant wait and i will be studying every day for the interview. Good luck to you all.

my friend interviewed the other day. very cool guy and and one of the best and most knowledgable pilots i've had the chance to fly with. said he nailed the interview and didn't miss a beat and felt really good. answer the tech correctly and laughing with the interviewees. then dawn told him he needed more actual to be competetive. he had 40 hours actual. 1300/70 are his times. he's the best instrument pilot at our school of 28 instructors. i dunno what they are lookin for. good luck!

I think what Flyguy said is right on. They are definately looking for a more experienced pilot. the bare mins. won't get you in. I was there the other day interviewing as well and I got shot down because of my lack of recent multi. They told me "they really wanted me to reapply in 3 months and I did extremely well on the interview in general, and the really liked me, but just not enough recent multi" I'm sure they tell that to everyone. Anyone ever heard of pilots getting hired after reapplying? OF course now with the indy guys, I've definitely missed the bus, and probably won't get a second chance.

PS- BTW, that place has a bunch of hotties walking around.... :D

I don't agree....reapply!! If Dawn suggested you reapply then do it.It's hard enough to get the first interview but in a few months, dropher a line and 'remind' her of the request to try again.

One thing I can tell you about Express, attitude is eveything so keep trying until someone tells you to stop!!

PS. Always enjoy my time at the training center :) :) :)

I'm not so sure we should be hiring a guy who calls himself
"superpilot."

Just kidding, good luck.

A few hours in our FTD and he will be changing that name pretty fast! ;)

I know, I know you think the name means I am cocky and think I am a superpilot. However this is just a nickname and some what of a inside joke at the school I did my training. Our ground instructor used to call all the students superpilots as a sarcastic comment just to joke with all the students. YOu know when you are working on your private you think you know everything, well he would call us that as a joke. As any pilot knows as you work up the latter of ratings you will probably never know everything. I am at the mercy of XJET to hire me "this was edited since people like ART VANDALAY the latex salesman can understand what it means". I will be studying everyday and if given the opportunity to work for the company I would work my arse off. Thanks to all. I hope to be working for the company soon.

You are such a LOSER!!!!!!! You may want to take XJET's unit out of your mouth and try and breathe once in awhile. However, you are a "superpilot" so you have nothing to worry about.

Go back to bed you tool. Whats wrong with wanting to get a job with a good company from my home town? Since you are "ART VANDALAY" you know everything, like i said you are a tool go back to bed before you get a unit in your mouth.

You are right, sir!!!!

I am quite a renaissance man........Latex manufacturing, Architecture, Author of Venitian Blinds, Importing, etc. Oh, and don't forget the exporting of potato chips as well!

Go back to studying for the XJET interview, whatever that means anyway. Wonder why they haven't called you yet, but good luck!

You defenely should apply again in three months. I did and got hired the second time around, and i'm loving it here. The first time i interviewed did't get the job because i had 35 hours of actual, and they wanted 40. That was when the mins were 1200 and 200. Two weeks after that the mins go to 800 and 20 of actual, that sucked for me, but i waited the 3 months and got in. Keep flying and studying, is worth the wait, working here is a blast.
Fly safe and we'll see you here.'

Ok, i need a question cleared up. This may have been answered somewhere in the annals of the previous posts, which i was too lazy to go over, so if it's been asked before please forgive me. It seems to me though, that it would be a waste of XJET's time to interview people who do not meet their needs. Why interview someone who doesen't have enough actual for them, seems a little pointless to me to give a guy an interview that they know they aren't going to take.

Thanks

They were having to turn down a few guys that didnt have all their requirements, like actual, total time in the last 6 months, multi time in the last six months, full time flying job, and things like that. this kind of requirements weren't posted anywhere, but after turning down a few guys, they started asking the applicants if they met all the requirements on the phone interview, so they didnt have to go all the way to houston to find out.

What are the "minimums" for multi time in the last 6 months? 90 days? Do they primarily care about 6 months. I live in the Northeast and the weather has not been the best for flights in the last 90 days. Do they take this into consideration. Thank you
