Not so sure about that. I know two guys that got turned down two days ago because they "interviewed great, but didn't have the experience" they were looking for. Why would they not bother to screen for this in their phone interview etc.....

Thanks

I guess it was not because of experience required by the minimums but because of experience required to be competitive, especially with the prefrerencial hiring being given to Indy pilots. But dont get descouraged, apply and do your best at the interview, you never know.

You are right, sir!!!!

I am quite a renaissance man........Latex manufacturing, Architecture, Author of Venitian Blinds, Importing, etc. Oh, and don't forget the exporting of potato chips as well!

Go back to studying for the XJET interview, whatever that means anyway. Wonder why they haven't called you yet, but good luck!

Art V.

You need to read posts. Now you look like an idiot. I posted before that i have recieved the phone call and have an interview thats why i am studying. Obviously you are one of those idiots that just post BS on here instead of writing something thats worth anything. Go back to exporting potato chips you renaissance man.

I do have plan b's out there and some pretty good ones i think. I havent looked to much into 135 jobs because i dont have the 1200 yet but if the XJET thing doesnt work I will reapply when told to do so and continue to work hard instructing until something else comes along. I like instructing and wouldnt mind doing it a while longer if i have to . I have made alot of good friends and Have learned alot. I have been instructing for about 10 months and I just recieved my Gold Seal which may not be much to some but i am proud of it.

I am having a friend walk in a resume for me, and we are not sure if it is Dawn Daniel or Daniels. If anyone knows for sure please reply.

Thanks

P.S. What is the latest rumor on how much longer are they hiring and how many?

We will be hiring for the foreseeable future and for the next few months it is 64/month and then tapering off towards the summertime. There is really no point in having your friend walk in a resume. You must apply online and once you get the interview, it is at that point that HR accepts letters from XJT pilots.

I have already done the online stuff and haven't been able to update it.

Is it Dawn Daniels or Daniel??

Thanks for the info BlueDevAv8r

old thread I know, but for anyone who may still be interested, I was hired in DEC 04 with 650/400. I am on reserve now and I absolutely enjoyed IOE and look forward to being able to do more flying. Good luck to everyone who has/gets an interview. It is a great place to work!!

That's great! Just keep in mind that if you change your mind, you can always fly Part 135. Oh, wait, you'll have to double your hours first.

I haven't seen any posts about ExpressJet lately, so I'm just wondering if they are still doing the hiring with 600/100 being the minimums. I was told back in December to expect a phone call in mid-March.... still waiting. Anybody else with the same problem?

There was a committment by XJT to give pref. interviews to furloughed Independence Air pilots. That may have slowed off-the-street hiring significantly.

The guys coming from ATP's school are still getting hired at 500 hours. My buddy put his app in beginning of march with 500 hours on the dot and is in the april 11th class I believe, after interviewing around the middle of march.

ATP and ExpressJet has a LOA. Don't worry about it, being jealous just makes it hurt even more...we all did it the wrong way (unless of course you went to ATP :)). To top it off he was MY OWN student, and I"m still CFI'ing building my multi time...

I did go to ATP, I just didnt choose to instruct there because at the time you had to wait in an office for months at a time. I am sure it wont matter though as it is probably some new program.

I just checked out the program, that does hurt.

There's two programs, the traditional one (which sounds like what you did) 90 day program instrument-MEI. I'm not sure how long my buddy waited, but he only instructed about 4 months after getting a slot. Ahhhhh.

And there's option two, which is buying your time to 500-600 hours (too lazy to look it up) using their new diamondstar aircraft. This program precludes instructing to build your time (but at a cost of close to $80,000).

The thing is, you don't get any sort of degree out of it. Which I guess is ok for some, but I wanted a 4 year degree, so ATP wasn't really an option.

Also, there was an ATP instructor at my first flight school where I worked. He had 500+ multi, but he was at the same place as me. This new deal is great for the current guys though.

i am in training now and there is a guy in my class with 580tt from all atp. pretty much all multi though.. He got his Private last february, Thats just crazy. Good for him though, he has to make it through the training just like everyone else, Half of our class is FLYI guys the rest are instructors, I had just under 1000tt and 200 multi. good luck guys they are highering people other than Forloughed pilots. keep it up it will pay off.

For anyone who's wondering about app. vs. call times...

I applied online 11/02/2004 and just got the call two days ago (3/29/05) to fax in my resume. Not sending it though...I'm enjoying what I'm doing now and I'd take a pay cut going to Xjet. One more interview slot for someone else! :)
