pay cut, Thats an under statment. what do they start at, 19

First year is $21.50 ($22.04 Dec. 1)
Second year is $32.00 ($32.80 Dec. 1)
per diem $1.60
add 6.5% 401k match first 5 years.

Pathetic, I agree.... but not quite $19/hr.

Anybody that got called last week to fax their stuff in heard anything yet? (Figers and toes crossed, i'm ready to move foward). Are Indy guys still gong to XJet even though recall are happening now at ACA....errrr I mean FlyI?

Yeah I got a call on 6/22 and the e-mail on sat. Standard thanks but no thanks, we have no opening that you qualify for!! Well then what are min's for?

I know how you feel... they have the mins for a reason... then they tell you to fax your stuff, then a thanks but not thanks letter... it's like putting pumkin pie in my face and telling me I can't have it....

I got the phone call to fax the resume got a call to call them back yesterday. I have similar times to you guys I dont understand the method they use

As it has always been in this industry, minimum qualifications do not necessarily equate to competitive qualifications. Of course competitive qualifications are dependant on market forces.

For example, many airlines list 1000 turbine PIC as a minimum. Yet many of us who have that minimum are no where near competitive, what with 4 and 5000 turbine PIC'ers out there looking for work. That's just the market out there right now.

That being said, meeting the mins and knowing you aren't really competitive with your times should NEVER stop you from applying and updating your app with an airline. Weird things happen in this industry and occassionally, someone gets lucky and is offered the job.

Whatever else happens, you just can't take this stuff personally. If there is one key to success in our industry, it is persistence.

You could come and fly for Gulfstream. If you would really like to be a Continental pilot, there is another way to do it. ExpressJet isn't the only one. In fact, we will have some of their jets soon. At which time I will be a certified EMB-135 FO (or perhaps CA).

Big Iron,
One of my good friends is a 1900 Captain for GIA, and I flew with the V.P. of Safety for GIA for 3 months. These guys are saying nothing about this EMB 135 deal; in fact sounds like you guys are having a maintenance and staffing problems.
Nothing personal guy, but now days the mins are 600/100 at some regionals.
By the way, say hi to Doug, Craig and Rico for me please.

Life's good..............'TIL YOUR 30 THOUSAND LOANS GET CALLED IN.

I'm pretty sure all FO's are certified, unless, with Gulfstream, he is done paying to be a right seat passenger and has graduated.

Just wondering....

If a guy comes into Expressjet with say 3000TT and 1000 turbine pic...

Does, he/she upgrade faster since he has a lot more hours than most of the new hires?

I understand upgrade is predicated on senoirty. But if the first 200 people above you don't have the mins for captian...

What happens there?

GIA is not getting any of Continental Express's jets anytime soon. Express can't get enough jets now to satisfy demand.

My advice to you is to call in sick in case you are tagged to pee in the cup.
