Just fill out the online app and find out. There's only about 10 question on the thing, might take 5 minutes tops.

When are you assigned a base? In GS?

Its my understanding you find out what your base is the first or second week of ground school.

Five of our guys went to Express jet in the past few months; all went to Newark. Three more are on the way up there.

Don't underestimate the power of JetCareers.com!!!!

I used to go to that site all the time, but lost it about 4 computer crashes ago (Bill Gates is the anti-christ!!)

Good site, look forward to browsing it again.

Hey, does anyone know what the training situation is at xjt?

How long is it?
Do they pay you a salary?
Living expenses? Food? breaks?
location of ground and sim?

thanks

60 days, no salary, hotel paid for plus $1400 spending allowance, sims at xjet training center but may be doing some at flight safety due to capacity issues.

I was called back three weeks to the day I applied online. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to the system. Some get called in one week, others three to four weeks. I was asked to fax my resume, and then was called and given a small phone interview asking basic questions based on my experience. Basic IFR ?s, and some multiengine aerodynamics/ac specific ?s. I have several friends who applied online only two days after me and still haven't heard anything back. I applied online on 9/7. Don't really know how they do it, but they don't know anything about your flying from the online app other than you meet their mins. It sucks, but start studying and just be patient. You'll get the call soon enough.

By reading the gouges it seems that they interview 5-10 a day, three times a week, for at least two weeks out of the month. I have an interview on the 15th, and I was told I could pick either the 12th,13th, or 15th.

So let me get this straight...If I filled out the online app. (which I did about 3 weeks ago) I don't need to follow it up with a resume and cover letter, or should I...may hurt my chances since I just meet mins???

I would just wait it out. I was tempted to do the same thing, but they do call and ask you to fax in your resume. Then comes the phone interview, and hopefully the invite to an interview.

Do they have any requirments on recency of multi experience? I've been flying a 208 for the last 6 months and am no longer multi current.

Yes, I believe they do - just had the phone interview and was asked about my recency of multi-time

regards

They may be asking that just to see how current it is... their minimums say 60 hours in the last 6 months. It doesn't say single or multi-engine, but the only way to know for sure would be to ask or email someone from HR. I clearly stated that I didn't have 60 hours multi in the last 6 months, but they still invited me...so that can't be the minimum requirement. Anyone know for sure?

I don't think they have minimum multi required in the last 6 months, just the 100 multi PIC total. But they did ask me how much of my total multi was in last 6 months, which happened to be over 60 so I'm not sure. Anyone had the phone interview that didn't have 60 multi in last 6 months? It seems they are more happy with those applicants that have a full time flying job. I think they want to see that you have made some sort of career move previously to show them that you are dedicated to flying for a living.(i.e.-full time instructor or cargo pilot) Everyone who applies online BE PATIENT and wait for XJET to call you. They are interviewing by the masses, and you will get in if you apply online, and meet their mins. They will call you, and ask you to fax a resume to them, I would wait until you recieve this call before faxing a resume. I was called 3 weeks after online app, some others I know were not called until 5 weeks later, doesn't seem to be any consistency to system, just be patient.
