XJT branded flying...how long can they hold on

Amid all these airlines folding, how can express jet keep flying 50 seaters around?? Are they really making that much money from their contract lift that they can keep throwing fuel on the fire with the branded flying? Maybe I'm missing something. Good luck to all....we will need it

Pure speculation, but they probably can last longer as a company if they get rid of branded, than if they hold on to it.

Pure speculation...the sun will blow up tomorrow, we'll all be dead, and it won't matter. Besides, after Skywest buys XJT they won't have anything to worry about.

I've asked both the CEO of skywest inc and the president of skywest about Xjets branded flying and both said they've looked at the routes a number of times and there isn't the revenue to make it work. It was either shut down half the company or give branded a shot and they chose the latter.

Nothing against your CEO or President as they may be ours some day and they have done a fine job with Skywest, but their opinions do not make facts, only opinions. Branded was planned when fuel was $54 a barrel, had it not doubled branded would be operating in the black right now. The branded operation does not account for half of our business, so no, it would not have shut down half the company. Had we given up 1/4 of the fleet at that time another 1/4 would have followed that and another 1/4 and another, then we would have been no more.

The loads on branded seem to be increasing monthly and we are trying to increase the high yield fares. It may work, it may not. But our management has done a hell of a job thus far.

Perhaps because it makes money and gives them CAL.

I met a Republic FO the other day. He's claiming that XJT will be under in 3-5 months and that Republic will take all the flying. What made me sick, was his hope for this to actually take place. Jerk!

I did think from day one that the branded flying was a bad idea with good intentions... Who wants for ride an ERJ from OMA-ONT? I dont! Atleast XJT has been trying to better themselves. I just dont think the branded flying is going to help them.
