I was hoping that someone who just went through training could give me the outline of the training course and how long it took them to complete training.

Also what are the lines like in CLE, days off and pay for the lowest line holder.

Thinking about moving over from another regional and info would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Training should take about two months from start to finish and off IOE. Might be a little longer depending on how backed up there are. I think they are good about getting guys out. The training program is geared to succeed. If your putting the right amount of effort you should be fine. CLE is either one man's heaven or another's hell. Winters can be bad, movement is historically the slowist, and the lines are so so. CAL is recalling alot of pilot's still at express so this might change. But the crew's out of there tend to be alittle more friendly and finding a crash pad cheep with out any tranportation issues is very easy. Most pads are on the RTA line so a car might not be needed. The contract is done (waiting to be offically signed) but the training part has changed. So research it. It's a good company and a good place to work. I am sure you will see another fifty posts on how the contract sucks, CLE is not the place to go, and all the company dorks are in CLE. I have worked at other reg's. Just because the grass is greener it might have to cut more often. Free advice is what it is... this is probibly a better place to work at. Just remember its still a job and not a vaction.

Letter 8 says that the Company has committed to increasing the training stipend/remuneration within 12 months of the DOS for new hires. No mention of a specific pay increase for new hires though.

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**, EVEN Mesa gives you a paycheck during training!

I guess I'll just go back to my lawn care business.

That mean it's tax free? That would be nice.
Yep, tax-free. Comes out to somewhere around $1600 or so, which isn't great, but at least you don't have to pay for your hotel like Comair and ACA and some others. Even if you live in Houston. Just hope you get along with your roommate. You start receving an actual paycheck as soon as you pass your simulator PC.

Mesa doesn't pay for your hotel room for at least the first week. Also, they pull continual BS on pilots like putting 4 to a small house in the former military barracks at Williams Gateway for training vs. hotel room single occupancy per their contract. No thanks!

I think what ExpressJet provides is reasonable and I believe something in the new contract says they have to work on improvements over the coming year.

training

At mesa your paid your full guarantee from day one. YOU pay for your hotel....I think after the first week. The rates are extremely low with meals taken care of by the hotel. Made about 1600 while in training...hotel costs about 1200 i think. So everything got covered. Oh yeah....your own room for that. I don't remember much...i was at the pool everyday working on my tan

XJet provides substantially more than some of the other outfits during training (Pinnacle comes to mind). They provide a hotel room plus per diem. The per diem is $38/day which works out to $1492.00. This should last you through your SIM PC (about six weeks). The Holiday Inn provides a free breakfast buffet and 15% off the menu. Plus, there are several vendors that come in to provide lunch at the training center for $6.00. So...if you if you keep the Fat Tire consumption at a reasonable level and stay away from the tittie bars, thats more than enough money to get you through ground school.
