I do have "the balls" and I voted yes.
The term "balls" is tossed around a lot. In my experience, the term is generally used to refer to fight or aggressiveness. As in a reference to testosterone, the ability to stand up against stacked odds due to exaggerated belief in one's abilities. Actually, I just looked up the term in the Dictionary:
"Courage, especially when reckless."
I'm curious how one, who rolled over on the first TA shown to them (which I'm sure was FAR below your so called target numbers), could summarize they possess or displayed "balls." When, after all, the union even said the rates were not "fair" but rather all they'd be able to obtain without a substantial fight (I can't figure out how that was news to anyone, but apparently it was).
Just curious. Sounds to me you possessed something more along the line of humility.
I would say you're using the term correctly though, if you're referring to your ability to admit voting yes. In that instance, you would have "balls." I think most of those who voted "yes" and are admitting it, are also on their way out and just wanted to take the money and run. Unfortunately they weren't considering the effect on the profession and their overall career but only the near future.
