XJ Furloughs Do Not Have To Pay Training Contract

Just got word that ALPA "negotiated" with Spandex an agreement that XJ will not enforce the training contract with regards to the pilots who resigned their numbers to get other jobs rather than wait to get furloughed. No surprise as they would not have a leg to stand on in court. These guys are pure idiots.

Of course they are pure idiots. Somehow the airline doesn't have to offer employment for 12 months when they said they would but yet the pilots whose "contract" was breeched by the company are required to pay damages????

ALPA's attorneys should be advising all affected to file suit against the slugs in the Pan Am building for harrasment.

Mesaba thinks they have a leg to stand on. And they might be right. If a company wants to d***s about it, written contracts are usually enforced at face value, not selectively based on various unforseen circumstances. Of course a pilot could declare BK to get out of it...we know that works lol

Actually...There is precident set by the company of not enforcing this contract in the past. I assume that's why ALPA got them to withdrawl the pursuit.

I can see this deadline not being extended as the NW TA will have the results posted by then... Talk about trying to make progress in the "bottom of the nineth inning" with negotiations...

It's a great deal for everyone furloughed that no money is due from you guys... It was a crock to begin with...

Good. Failure to enforce a contract like that consistently amongst all employees would probably be good grounds to get it tossed anyway.

Just what EXACTLY do you think would be a scheduling conflict that would take up one and a half weeks to get resolved, after all we aren't really looking at anything important like possible liquidation of the company (one way or another)
