OK guys, I apologize if I came off as a ******************************. It's just that the FoxJet post wishing a furlough on Pat Fabin was pretty tasteless and it set me off. My post describing NetJets pilots as chauffers was tasteless too -- and obviously inaccurate. I continually complain about the level of civility on this board and then I proceeded to help "lower the bar" in that regard.

I've flown 135 and it is a demanding job, way more demanding than 121 and I have a great deal of respect for you guys. Since 9/11 I can see why flying for a major isn't the holy grail for everyone that it once was (although it still is for me.)

BTW, I don't work for Delta (although I am trying) so please don't take me as a representative of that group.

Peace.

Does two Puerto Rico vacations, both for 5 nights, and not paying a dime count?

Tickets: AA or USAirways- Free on accumulated miles
Hotel: Embassy Suites San Juan-Free on Hilton points
Dinners and drinks: paid with AMEX gift card from Atlantic Bucks.....( Ok, some of it was paid from my winnings at the casino too ;) )
...PRICELESS!!!

THats what some of the perks are... as added bennies.

Nice deal, glad it works for you. Unfortunatly, I used up all my points commuting to my NetJets domicile and staying in hotels the night before my trip begins. Those points don't accrue fast enough to cover the commute.

NJ vs 121....

our people pay a lot of money to stay away from your people.

OMG, that is funny!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but this thread has been pretty dammed funny!

It is interesting that the salary guesstimates for DAL and NJ have been very close, but I would say one thing to the folks who are relying on their Delta retirement to top NJ pay: Look at UAL. Same thing could probably happen to DAL pilots.

Money that isn't in your bank account isn't your money, period.

Just a question to ponder...

Say the latest terrorist plot to blow the fuel farm at JFK would have succeeded. This would have crippled operations at JFK. DAL is big there. The flying public would have reacted negatively... again. The TSA would definetely have a hand in the fall out.

How would this affect a job at DAL? Not good me thinks

How would it affect a job at NetJets? We'd likely sell a bunch of new owners... after they wait in line for thier plane to get delivered.

Domiciles and pay. They are horrid. The company knows it and they are trying to play a bad hand of poker with those 2 cards. It has, so far backfired on them in the form of attrition. I don't see them hanging around long term (dom and suck f/o pay). These are things for the company to heal thyself on.

5-7 year upgrades? If you wait for an APU maybe. We do have GPUs though in the meantime. They work quite well.

Every time an airline employee is rude or makes a bad call with a boatload of passengers I thank them. I thank them for making my job that much more secure.

Or you can go fly big jets cause they're big.

Now none of this is meant to be personally offending to any person... the industry just plain (plane) stinks.

I thought that was why we are keeping the Ultras around, to shuttle the crews around! At least thats what a friend of a friend's brother told my F.O.....

Yep, and those crew-shuttling Ultras will be crewed by ab initio pilots and interns.

Well, that's what I heard from this guy who's neighbor knows a woman who's daughter goes to college with the son of guy who works in the scheduling department.
