The problem here is that the 89 seat rates should be the same as mainline. Thus making the scope pointless. But it's not and republic pilot are salivating at the thought of flying the heavy emb for American.

I'm guessing 500ish after some of the guys flow back and all. I hope that's not the case, I have some good friends over there. But I wouldn't be surprised.

Flow Back? That expired 2 years ago. 0 will be flowing back.

Word on the street here at Eagle is that our people are already in Brazil negotiating for EMB-190s in a 2 class configuration....why would AA farm it out and lose control when they could keep it in house and get a new flow-back in the process? Most guys at AE get to go to AA at some point anyways, so a staple isn't out of the question.....that would achieve the same as a flowback deal, and keep SCOPE intact.

The whole reason for spinning AE off was to control costs, but the bankruptcy court can handle that a lot easier, and they don't have to open themselves up to problems with outsourced carriers down the road.

I stand corrected. But you can't buy anything until an agreement with the AA pilots is met. Just because mgmt wants a bunch of big planes farmed out doesn't mean it will happen.

I think APA should make a solid proposal to keep all > 50 seat flying at mainline where it belongs. If anything good comes out of this bankruptcy, it should be the preservation of career-quality mainline jobs.

Agreed. Big airplanes contracted out is not good for anyone but the short sighted. More major airplanes = more major jobs. CAL/UAL will be getting control of their scope in this contract.

Pretenders that will sell their coworkers out to benefit themselves because they are inferior to people that could actually get hired at legacy carriers.
