Well the five guys do work out their own schedule. You just have to hope nothing goes wrong if you are counting on a specific day off.

Just remember that 16 days a bid period, and you can forget ever getting under that as anyone with less than 10-15 years in the company, means 16-19 days a month worked.

Oh, and there are non Red Label pilots flying the same equipment, doing the same job, often sharing the same flight deck as their RL brethren while making significantly less money. They’re gonna love you.

FJ is no longer competitive with the compensation and quality of life of even most major ULCC’s. Good luck with that.

This is right in line with Ken Ricci’s f’d up vision of paying 80% of his employees as little as possible. You’re either trapped, transient or have well worn knee pads in his world. Guess who gets the money.

First, Netjets year one pay base pay on a 7 on 7 off schedule is higher while working less days. 52 weeks in a year equals 26x7=182 days worked. First year at Netjets is also $80k. The "preferential bid" here at Flex means you will work 16 days per bid period. There are 13 bid periods a year. 13x16=208 days a year. You also get two weeks vacation at each place...but Netjets week is 7 days while Flex's week is 5 days. Oops, truth in advertising is optional at Flexjet.
There is no such thing as a fifth year 350 captain. Fifth year 350 pay is around $90,000 in reality. Gulfstream pilots get $140,000 as a base. No bonuses were paid to them this year. Again, there is a truth gap here.
Steelhead is a management account. The post is written by the third party union busting Russ Brown or one of his ilk. As Cabbie said, without QOL, you don't want to get caught here.

I almost forgot to mention Netjets pays 100% of your insurance and has a much better 401k match. At Flex, it's a mere 4% match for your first six years. And management argued against improving it during contract arbitration. So don't expect it to improve if there is no Union to negotiate anything better.

The Gulfstream guys got their bonus but got dinged for the company-wide over runs, etc.

One of the "commanders" was bragging about working over 2 months straight without a day off. I thought surely that's the wrong word. Maybe complaining was a better word.

Nope. It was clarified it was bragging. He was excited to explain how hard he was working setting up "his program" and "making the company money" even if he didn't get to share the profits. He is the prototype for an FoK.

By the way, this "Commander" is one of the lead decert guys. Nevermind he was passed over for the job until the Union fought for the right for Flexjet guys to participate. Although considering the grave needs of his family (his wife has TBI) perhaps this particular pilot would be better off on the 300. Funny, he'd be making more money there too. Just ask the other IRL decert "king" who left the IRL program after seeing the sham and went back to the 350 where he gets more time with his husband.

King???? Really another word comes to mind!

Speaking of Wow! What's the story behind this latest email? Did the Union busting law firm send porn to some of the managers so they could try for fake outrage and accusations?

Meh. He’s just trying to change the subject from what his managers did. Look over there, a squirrel!
