This sounds like the typical the grass is greener. XLR...you sound like a huge whiner. Bad tone!

I guarantee if you get on with NetJets, there will be at least one instance where your poor Captain or FO will have to put up with.."Well at Continental, we did it like this..."

Your on with a legacy carrier and your complaining. BAD FREAKIN TONE!!!!!! Hey mommas boy..I have a crazy idea....MOVE to BASE. Or even better have your lover go to work and you can stay home and keep house.

UNBELIEVABLE man!!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!!

You shouldn't drink and post at the same time - you sound like an idiot. This is an informational forum and he asked some legit questions. People do make career-rated mistakes from time to time and he is asking some good questions. Thanks for adding NOTHING to this discussion.

Stick with CAL. More money over the course of your career, and more options for lifestyle. I'm in the same boat as you are seniority-wise and yes, they work us like dogs. But things are getting better all the time, Section six starts in April, we're on track to make a Billion dollars this year and have three Billion in the bank.

Netjets is a great company, but for my personal tastes, I like my airline standardization, and having control over my schedule and life. I know where I'm going next and I'll never have to sit around and FBO waiting on people again.

Read On You Six's post. Excellent advice there.

Would you change your mind if you knew UAL was going to be merged D.O.H?

Plenty of NJA/EJAers have gone to Continental. I'd ask some of them. They didn't experience the more lucrative and protective contract we currently have, or the modifications (+/-) we have yet to experience post IBB, but they could tell you roughly what the job is like compared to Continental. It really is different work than it is at the airlines.

You'd have to take some of what they may say with a grain of salt since the place was a revolving door prior to the contract. The job is much better now but it's still hard work. Sometimes it's a cake walk and sometimes it's a ball buster. You just never know. It's not as rosy as some would lead you to believe on this message board.

Do some serious homework before going for greener pastures. Rumor is you'd be an f.o. for a while at NJA. There are still NJAers looking for their next job too.

I'm pretty certain that the first few years at most airlines blow. I never got far enough into an airline seniority list to know how much things improve with time.

FWIW, I'm 5 years into NJA. I turned down a couple of airline gigs to stay. I'm happy, not jump up and down happy, but happy, with no plans to leave. The three 21 day breaks a year are what keep me sane. Four of those breaks at year 10 mark will be super. If we ever IBB those away, I'd most likely go nuts.

Best of luck.

Nothin like the smell of lav juice in the morning.

Honest question what is the situation on loading bags?

I am on the X, so your mileage may vary. Normally the bag load is small, 2-3 bags. However, when you get a group of 6-8 pax going golfing, your camping packing skills will be tested. Some times you look at the bags and say WTF? and then call UPS or FedEx.

XLR. NJA is receiving 150 apps/week. Could be a LOOOONG process if you have not applied and been called for an interview. In other words, "Don't quit your day job". Good luck.

That last question I need to defer to someone else.

I would GUESS it is taxable.

It is not...the LTD is tax free 60%of base pay.
