MillionAir at KBKL.

They have a horrible track record for hangar rash, and the staff seems to only operate at the speed of smell. If your plane has props on it, don't even bother going there because they don't want you (and have actually TOLD customers as such).

Oh, and if you're a freight dawg? Forget it. Even if you upload 1000 gallons of jet-A, they won't allow you in the building. Period. Even during a January Cleveland blizzard.

Case in point, the Cleveland Air Show back in 99. At the start of the week, the majority of the airshow performers were basing at MillionAir. By the end of the week, every single performer (except the military ones) had migrated to the other FBO.

So many bad FBO's, so little time to mention all of them but here are several that top my list:

First Aviation TEB...Service? What's that?
Signature DET...What a dump.
Supermarine SMO...awful service but the bad attitude is free!
Signature MIA...where they leave you stranded on the other side of the ramp and drive by you in golf carts pretending like they didn't see you waving at them.
Jimsair SAN...the do-it-yourself FBO.
Wilson Air MEM and CLT...no way the FBO of the year 8 years running, what a scam.

Seen most of those already listed but in my experience at the frax for over 8 years the all around champion for crappy service from an FBO (a buisness that is supposed to SERVE its customers)

Jimsair in SAN.

You have to chase after one person for your catering, another for your coffee, another for an interior vac, another for the fuel. Yadda, yadda, yadda. That after requesting all of it at the counter or via the radio inbound for a turn. I don't say quick because that in NOT in their vocabulary.

If you need a shuttle to the hotel, they'll get to you after they are done shuttling people to and from their parking lot and the airline terminal. They get 10 - 20 bucks for someone who's parking their car and they jump for that but the crew flying the GIV who might be uplifting 1000 gallons or more the next day can wait til they're good and ready to take them to-from the hotel. I stopped asking an just requested a taxi.

I agree. In addition to being a crappy FBO, they don't allow any catering other than theirs or it has to at least go through them so they can mark it up 50%.

I fuel up around them whenever possible.

I wish there was a way to send this thread to all the FBOs nation wide.

Althogh it might not help as the ones with crap service and bad attitudes probably know it already and don't care.

If anyone deserves a snooze in the bldg it's a freight guy. That's just plain rotten.

I wish there was a way to send this thread to all the FBOs nation wide. Agreed!

Althogh it might not help as the ones with crap service and bad attitudes probably know it already and don't care. Or it might be the wake up call they needed?

The list of bad ones is certainly long. You guys have my sympathy. Is there any chance that the rising cost of fuel will increase competition at some of them and then, hopefully, service will improve? Best Wishes, NJW

There are plenty of crapholes, but it's the ones that charge an arm and a leg for absolutely no service. Signature BWI, BOS stick out freshly.
