Relax there rookie
dmorris,
I haven't seen anything like this since Patmack. Here is some advice:
1. Relax...Do some damage control. I don't think anyone was trying humiliate you (at first). The military is a strange place. It is somewhat like a small, tight-knit fraternity. Insulting people that have been there will get you nowhere and will probably only hurt your chances of succeeding if you choose the military.
2. Stay in school. Do anything you can to try to get a degree. That BS will be great ammunition on a resume and will open many doors in the military.
3. Think about joining the Air National Guard. They will pay for most of your education while you are working part time in the ANG. In addition, you will gain many great contacts there that can help you in the future. I wish I would have gone this route.
4. Finally (sorry, I'm not usually this long winded), nobody has to sell the military to you. If you want to do it and show the proper attitude, things usually fall into place and military folks will probably be more than happy to help you get to where you want to go.
Good luck and fly safe,
SR
