Be patient! It hasn't even been two hours! This isn't a chat room. Plus, it's the weekend. I'm sure the military guys will be more than happy to answer your question when they can.
I have been in your same shoes. I went to college for flying at an expensive school and bailed in my junior year with my CFI rating and only an A.S. degree, hoping to get in the Navys NAVCAD program (only needed 2 years of college to go to flight school). After Desert Storm they dwindled the program down, and I could not get a slot. I went into the army to fly Helos. Yes, it might be a short cut to get into a military cockpit, but it is definately the path of most resistance if you really want to be a pilot, and not a soldier first. I could go into depth about the pros and cons of the program and life, but my reccomendation for you is to FINISH COLLEGE. Get yourself a degree from a $1000 a semester school, get a basket weaving degree, and do your flying on the side to get your ratings. You are going to pay out your ass to get it thru a college flight program. Once you have ANY degree, from ANY school you can apply to ANY military program, whether it be the Guard or Active. You will have lots more options open to you. The woft program is not going to close. If you want to fly for the military and can't afford the 32K school. Take my advice. My best friend took the basket weaving option and flew C130s in the Corps, now he flys for Delta making 130K a year in his 4th year. Email me at [email protected] if you have any specific questions. Good luck!
Also....The WOFT program has been around since the Vietnam Days, so it is not a fly by night Army of One (Stupid slogan) brainchild. Also you better check your ASVAB score. If you got an 87 for a GT score, you better wait a few years and take it again. You need a 110 GT score for anything requiring brains in the Army. Go buy a test prep book for military tests prior to taking that AFAST test.
