The DAL guy that comes to mind was furloughed in the early 90's (from DAL). Now he is a Captain here.

As far as quiting SWA to go anywhere else? I guess its not a problem as long as your timing is good. You know get in when a lot of hiring is going on with plenty of guys below you.

I really hate when guys jump back a few threads, but here is one for General Lee!
I know it is banter re the wind checks, and SWA, but .....

Its ME! I ask them

Odd, I know, but I just love to know what ATC thinks is the current surface wind. It gives me this weird feeling, like being ready for the unexpected. Must really be the navy guy in me.

Sometimes I ask them to confirm the runway too. Eek. Oh, and ops, the gate.

They taught me in pilot training to stack the options in my favor:D
